I'm at all the home games and then watch replays. Our TV crew is not very good, but as in anything you get what you pay for and I'm guessing we're paying the bare minimum. Even though they're young, the radio crew (minus the sideline reporter) is quite good and I've been very impressed with Simms as color analyst in his first year. Not nearly as good as Jackson & Brown, but still pretty good.

I like banks fine. I know he’s got a few years before he’s got enough experience to really shine as color. Nothing against battle but if we could get DJ back to do the tv it would be awesome

My issue with Pierre is him enunciating every syllable of every word and using ridiculous adjectives and abbreviations to describe things & people. David isn't coming back until some changes take place. He still likes doing PBP, but wants to do it on a limited basis that allows him to spend time with his family. The guy was putting in some insane hours.
Pierre is a wealth of knowledge but we have a broadcast school and he needs to go through a couple classes. You're right his over-enunciation is excruciating.

Pride | Passion | Purpose

As a graduate of that School of Broadcasting you can understand my irritations.

Think it's more getting this Drinkwitz play calling.

I refuse to pay for ESPN+, so I had to listen to it on the radio. Adam and Simms praised Zach for his play making all throughout the game, and stats back up the fact he had his best game this year. If it was mainly Drink, need them both to be on the same page next week.

Basing my opinion on the variety of calls and downfield throws we haven't seen at times this year. Drinkwitz has been critical of himself several times for being too conservative citing his conflict between being the OC & HC.

I'm sure that'll be a conflict next week as we need to be aggressive on O but also have some time consuming drives to benefit our defense.

Sad times in Troy.

Hopefully we'll come back and bust heads next season... or at least we should on paper...

Doesn’t App St have more returning staters than Troy next year? I think all but 1 on the offensive side of the ball are returning next year. And I think 8 starters on defense are returning.

Missed most of the 2nd half. Did app keep its 1st string the whole game?

RE: Game Thread: Mountain Men @ Men of Troy
They pulled most of the starters in the fourth. So did Troy.

The game was over at halftime, and it being the last game of the regular season it was nice for both coaches to let the second and third stringers get some game time.

When it comes to starters, Troy loses:

OFFENSE:

QB Kaleb Barker
OL Kirk Kelley
OL Tristan Crowder
OL JL Gaston

DEFENSE:

CB Will Sunderland
SS Melvin Tyus

(We lose a couple of backup D-Linemen, but not the original starters. Also, our DE Auburn transfer and our LB Iowa transfer become eligible, so we add nice depth in those spots.)

App loses 2 starters on offense (LT Vic Johnson & TE Collin Reed). Defense we lose NT, both OLB's, 1 ILB & both safeties. Solid backups and PT starters are back as well as some good young players in the pipeline. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. 2021 will be a complete rebuild of the offense.

It today WS Journal.

"Thomas mentioned that the team hoped to “open some eyes.” Hennigan added that converting on some of those early shots helped Thomas lock in and, in turn, the whole offense.

“I think he enjoyed kind of coming out with this game plan and throwing the ball and being aggressive in the passing game,” Hennigan said of Thomas. “That’s one thing — maybe Chapel Hill and a couple other games — where we did that early."

You mean in 2021 the offense will be a rebuild right? Next season App States awesome offense will essentially be the same as this years - player wise. And Drinkwitz will have a year of getting to know the players. So I would expect App to be in very good shape next year.
