The date is horrible. I think our administration would much rather play on 12/21. Of course, if the Cajuns win the title, they'll be in NO.
Both the Lending Tree and the Camellia would love to have the Cajuns and I think Louisiana might get it's choice between the two.
If that happens, I'm leaning Montgomery.
I've been under the assumption that Mobile gets second pick. I saw the Arizona Bowl on twitter pumping up stAte, btw.
While the travel isn't ideal, the Arizona Bowl would be a bowl I'd hope the Cajuns make one day. My best friend lives 1.5 hours away, and the winter is one of the best times to visit southern Arizona. The date of the game also makes it easy to take off for the days leading up to and after the game. Would probably take the whole week to make the trip worthwhile.
Air fare is staggering. I know a friend ended up flying to Vegas and renting a car. I actually considered flying to El Paso and renting a car, instead I paid my Direct TV bill and watched on TV.

Well I have the benefit of New Orleans being 2.5 hours away and they have a daily direct flight to Phoenix for around $200 each way. Could probably find cheaper on the budget carriers if I tried.

After Christmas? Southwest flies direct LR to Phoenix but price goes up between Christmas and New Year's Day.

Yes. I looked this morning. It was $416 total. Leaving Saturday 12/28 and returning on New Years Day.

Around GS the thinking is that we are either going to Montgomery or Orlando for our bowl game
