True. We were a lot of fun to watch until Norm Chow took over in 2011 and destroyed everything June Jones had built. He replaced the run-and-shoot with a pro-style offense that UH couldn't execute with non-P5 talent. Fans were calling for Chow's removal by 2013 but the administration didn't pull the trigger until the end of the 2015 season, by which point the program was in shambles and the fan base was decimated.

Nick Rolovich has done a pretty good job putting the pieces back together (three bowl teams in four seasons at the helm), but his updated version of the UH run-and-shoot isn't yet the well-oiled TD machine we remember from the Colt Brennan years. And the defense has struggled mightily against opponents with a pulse. Saturday's game with SDSU for the MWC West title will be a litmus test for how far the rebuilding process has come.

Hawai’i had 3 49k+ attendance games in 2007. Those are the crowds I remember watching on tv. Sad people don’t show up anymore.
