Interesting. I think Wegmans should go after this bowl since they want to expand in the mid atlantic and the south. Maybe this is a silly question, but what does Duckhead khakis have to do with this?

Just the first brand of overpriced pants I could think of at the spur of the moment.

The Yellow wood or Food Lion bowl would be so ACC. Have the “Yella fella” present the trophy made out of....pressure treated wood.

The working title was the Queen City Bowl.

I'm not sure where Belk got the money to pay for that anyway. Most Belks are in malls that were essentially tax shelters that are now failing.

Replacement Sponsors:

- ACC Cliche:
--- Bojangles (Where would they get that kind of money?)
--- Food Lion (Super duper where would they get that money? They're hurting.)
--- GEICO
--- Carolina Ford Dealers

- Insurgent Halfbacks:
--- NY Life
--- Wegmans
--- WaWa

- Outside The Box:
--- Cook Out
--- Pepsi

I was at a major custom apparel maker's factory a few months ago. That stuff is farmed out to the lowest bidder who doesn't screw it up and then marked up more than 100%. I watched them just absolute churn out some basic <redacted> sorority shirts for anybody with a large bandwagon fan base. Cost per unit was under $5. Coming soon to a bookstore near you for $32.99.

Is Belk a department store? I honestly have no idea what it is? Is it like Target or Kohl’s?

J.C. Penny's but about 25% more expensive, 1,000% more preppy, and not discernibly better quality.

Besides, the bowl name has never been pronounced right. Any self-respecting southerner knows it should have been called the Belks Bowl.

Curious as to why Pepsi haven't reached out to sponsor this bowl, especially since it was first introduced as Brad's Drink in New Bern, NC. Aside from Target or Walmart, really don't see too many retailers having the ability to sponsor bowls. Wonder if Amazon would sponsor it?

It's not the job of Pepsi to inflate the ACC's balance sheets. The conference (or Disney, or both) should have a sales and sponsorship division. People should be paid to fill (or upgrade) these sorts of sponsorships.

Any bowl in the Carolinas should have a mobile home manufacturer as it's sponsor. It totally fits.

Now wait just a minute. I've driven from NKY through Cincinnati and on to Columbus before several times. And that stretch from NE Cincinnati to SW Columbus? You could easily think you were lost in Kansas until you see the giant Rebel flags on barn tops ... then you think perhaps the flood plain flats of Mississippi. Manufactured housing placed in a slab foundation would be a step up from an awful lot of that stretch of Ohio right on Cincinnati's door step.

Very true. I must have driven that route coming and going to Florida over the years (I-71 to I-75) 40 to 50 times. Beautiful flat country! But plenty of mobile homes.

Followed by Truist, the new name for the merged BB&T/Sun Trust
