TRIBE IN THE PROS: An (Updated) Running List
With W&M constantly churning out pro coaches and players, we set out to compile a quasi-exhaustive list of notable W&M athletes and coaches who have taken their talents to the professional ranks -- whether that be through playing, coaching, or at the high-ranking executive levels.
This includes both male and female pro players; we took our first stab, but we invite any feedback regarding folks we left out! It quickly became a long, impressive list! We also included as up-to-date photos as we possibly could; some players look quite different than when they were in the 'Burg (see: Omar Prewitt!).
Again, this isn't meant to be an exhaustive list, we know folks such as Caprio and Caskin are lower-level NFL scouts for the time being. But if there are any glaring omissions, definitely let us know!
We also plan to update this list periodically throughout each year.
Roll Tribe Roll.

TRIBE IN THE PROS: An (Updated) Running List
Antonio Bustamante signed a contract with DC United and plays for Loudoun FC (DCU development team).
Do we have no golfer on tour?
No professional tennis player?
Seems we should, but I don't know.

Very impressive job but curious if this is about pros, why the college jobs listed?

Fair point -- it's a relatively subjective take on how to define "pro" -- for the high-level college coaches, we're essentially defining them as "pros" since they've reached the highest level there, and have made a true, sustained profession out of it.
We thought they could count! Hence Joey Brady, Dambach, etc.

We've gotten some messages across social media on golfers, so we're looking into that now; looks like we have a few in the pro ranks. Will be updating accordingly!
As for tennis players, haven't heard about anyone yet.

But you're right, after thinking about it more, we're going to take out the college coaches -- that list might become far too unwieldy.

I get the unwieldy part, and perhaps it can be a separate list at some point. But I see them as having professional jobs in sports (i.e., they are being paid for the role with a sports organization). Start doing that, though, and you’ve got people in athletic departments all over the country- particularly law grads in NCAA compliance.

Yeah, that was my take as well. A college coach is a professional coach. A college player is an amateur player.
I think the college coaches make sense.

You probably need some cutoff though - D1 coaches only or just HC/OC/DC. I bet if you go down the ranks through D2/D3/NAIA/wherever you'd have too many to keep track of

Yeah, that makes sense to keep it manageable. DI and maybe D2/D3/whatever is HC only.
This does make me realize one missing...

What happened to Daniel Dixon? He was playing quite a bit for Northern Arizona Suns last season, and was listed on the roster all the way up until they made this season's roster announcement, and he was no longer on it.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Couldn't find much about it on twitter or anywhere

Hey Tribal - I believe one or both of them are former student equipment managers. I've heard those folks have thick skin!

Well, they did ask for our input. (Be careful what you ask for???)

Is Marcus just saddled with bad teams wherever he plays? They don't even come close to winning, and he plays a good amount of minutes and doesn't score much. He's averaging a little over 9 ppg on 33% overall shooting.
