RE: Men’s track
There was Flaminio who was fired for major violations.
Then there was a a black guy named Lee Smith? Who went on to be the recruiting coordinator for Iowa Football. Then it was my coach, Kent Baker. Kent was coach until program dropped. The women were coached by Michelle Maxie and then Coach Hadsell. At one time the women were coached by Bev Kearney who went on to Florida and the Texas. Jill Lancaster left Toledo for Oklahoma. That’s all I can remember as my kids are screaming for their dinner (wife out of town on business and I’m drowning).

I should still have some eligibility left. As long as they don't bring back a certain coach that used to be the head coach... 01-lauramac2

I’ve got a year left and I KNOW they won’t bring back the only coach to ever have an NCAA violation here.

You're a little ahead of my time... Was the guy that was there most/all of the nineties the last coach of the program? I was there in 97.

Really didn’t follow coaches much after Flaminio-I was in the raising kids phase of life. Not sure who the last guy was.

I'm flat out referencing Kent Baker. The throws coach that recruited me was Steve Keissling, but he was gone before I got there. Baker had beef with my brother from six years earlier and made it personal with me. I didn't hang around the team for long, safe to say.

Ignorance must follow UT coaches around. We only had one assistant who was a 10,000 meter guy trying to work with jumpers and throwers. 5’5”, 135. He actually worked hard at it, though. Can’t recall his name, though. Flaminio got fired for NCAA violations.

It was warranted, I'm sure. My brother was a 1:55 800m runner, I was a 58ft shot putter. Almost the same thing.

How far could you put your brother?

Despite outweighing him 2 to 1, he was a wiry son of a gun and I could never get a good enough grip to find out.
