Given that the Dukes crush the Spatters, i asked "are they more properly known as the Tics or the Ticks?" It occurred to me that they are Ticks bugs that are detroyed at will by the Dukes. These blood sucking bugs suffer from nervous tics, when they realize the Dukes are coming after them. They also suffer from nervous tics in the aftermath of a merciless thrashing. Their nervous tics often last a lifetime.

I think of them as ticks. The red sweater vests kind of put that to bed. Having said that, I use "TIC" on my license plate because the blood sucking version would not fit on my license plate--"TIC H8R".
