Also, if people are satisfied with Disney+ will they cut cable which is still Disney’s cash cow? Many probably have held off cutting cable because of the Disney channel.

Its the Disney movies in HD/UHD that sell me.

We can watch things like Honey I shrunk the kids, Sandlot, and Mulan in 4K.

It would be incredibly expensive to go buy all those movies or even rent them. The Star Wars, Marvel, and NG are a plus.

I would happily pay 16 a month.

Exactly. Disney + is giving me 4K versions of movies I already own on DVD or Blu Ray. Cheaper than buying them all again. The only reason I'd drop it would be a series of price increases, which I fear will be coming.

But how many people can stream in 4k? At my last 3 houses, I couldn't even stream in HD. Not at any price.

The cable companies have no incentive to make streaming higher quality or more consistent than cable tv.

That's becoming less common.

You can get gigabit internet in pretty much every major city now. Even if you don't have that 100mb is good enough with proper installation. If you go wired you are golden.

The next crop will be harder to win, but if their original stuff is good then they will build a pretty good base. You've got tons of Marvel and Star Wars fans hungering for virtually any and every foray into their favorite universe.

All the kids programming will sustain them as well because tons and tons of parents will recognize the service as a one-stop shop. And if anyone watches the same movie on repeat then it's little kids. They won't have to develop new stuff as regularly.

Lol, my son would watch cars 2 five times a day if I let him

Is that the same episode that MJ voiced a character? If so, that's pretty stupid.

Every single thing Disney's made/owned being available is mind-boggling to me. My guess is this will be the death of Netflix because families will need Disney+ to have content for their kids. The older crowd has the nostalgia for the older material & is obsessed w/ Marvel, as well as the other more mature stuff Disney makes/owns.

They aren't mutually exclusive. I just got the Disney bundle but have no plans to drop Netflix.

As it is, Disney+ is already considered a failure for the censoring parts of the movies.

Sorry but you made a bad prediction.
They put up a disclaimer that the movies are from a different era and may contain content modern viewers find objectionable.

It cost me $2.20 a month to add Disney+ and the potential inventory is massive.

So much of Netflix's back catalog is going to get reeled back into to the studio streaming plans as most studios seem to be on that path. Netlfix originals will make or break them and cancelling shows after two seasons isn't going to build much inventory.

Yes, and Michael helped brought us the Simpsons with a music album with hits like Do The Bartman.

Very true. My family isn’t going to subscribe. We already get the Nick channels on Philo. We also think Nick has better shows than Disney.
Any of the other Disney movies we want to watch we will rent in VUDU.

The producers of The Simpsons already pulled the episode from their broadcast rotation and Hulu back in March after the Leaving Neverland documentary aired. It's only coming up again because Disney+ was launched and it's noticeable that the episode isn't included, but this came from the producers of The Simpsons themselves as opposed to Disney.

This is correct. One of my biggest pet peeves is making assumptions about material without ever actually viewing it. Disney+ hasn't censored any of those movies.

Yeah the faux outrage is a little weird.

When you're talking about a catalog of thousands of properties, there are going to be things that just haven't aged well.

If Time Magazine for example was re releasing all of it's old issues, I suspect they'd probably leave out the Hitler "Man of the Year" edition too.

No - Time would leave it there. The "Man of the Year" edition has always been about a person who:

Time Magazine Wrote:"for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year"

"For worse" is the key in there.
