In the 2nd half, Ayesa missed his third 3 (the only of his three attempts that was a bad/forced shot). After the ensuing timeout, he left Ayesa in there. That was a good coaching move. Almost anyone else would have yanked him.

I think you are on to something. I agree with what you said and can add another item.

He took Nathan out early yesterday. He wasn't hustling around the glass and wasn't getting his position underneath. Out for a few minutes, let him think about it and then back in the game.

Great coaches gain trust from their players and that leads to a winning culture. Fear never works in basketball and letting the inmates run the asylum is the other extreme. Having a balance where the players believe in themselves and the overall team is where it needs to be.

Agree with all of this plus he keeps the players focus on what they need to do going forward and not worrying about the previous play. You do not see our players complaining a lot about a foul not being called or celebrating a good shot while the clock is running. Add to this his consistent focus on the 5 Core Values whenever the team is off track and not performing.

Thanks! From that site, I also hear that the "van" is actually pronounced "von", so phonetically it is "von veet". Also interesting that van vliet means "not found". So, hopefully, Andy will be "not found" by those opponents attempting to guard him.

“Not found” just means it’s not in their translation database. I think “van Vliet” would simply mean “from Vliet” — Vliet is the name of a town.

Yes, that makes sense. Of course, not much of a translation database if it doesn't know a basic word such as that "Van" means "from"........

The particle "van" or "von" in front of a German, Dutch or Belgian name signifies aristocracy or landed gentry.

Though it's Nate saying it and not Andy, his name is mentioned without protest in Nate's In The Lockers video

Ive known a few "Van-XXX"s over the years. They all went by "VAN" and not "VON." Its probably one of those excused Americanisms, where in the mother country, the difference is clear, but to American ears and accents, it is pronounced with less subtlety and the foreign-born citizens understand and excuse it.

Game photos show student section with support of the grad student players. Would be a good thing to push for, as they dont necessarily have as many distractions (frats, clubs etc) and might be looking for more to do in the Burg. I used to frequent local minor league games as a social outlet. Beer sales at Kaplan anytime soon?

There is a play where the Hampton defender is using his shoe to try to block Nate

The shoe actually came off a Tribe player, either Lowe or Scott. The Hampton guy used it to play D

I couldn't believe the referee didn't stop play for Scott. I would have thought that could be a safety issue.
