Wow. There is like 0.12 interest in the B-ball program right now.

I think there’s fatigue from our sports all together at the moment. Need something good to happen. Something significant. Anyhow, I’m glad we’re 2-0. Glad we’re bowl eligible. Been talks about there being not enough teams to fill the bowls. I still don’t think even 7 wins is enough for somebody to want to take us.

There’s a double header on Friday at Bartow Arena.
The Women host Boise state at 4
The Men host Utah Valley State at 7

To be honest, I dont follow the Bball threads. I see a and skip to the next thread, which I know he frequents.
I know he usually replies to BAMABLAZER, but now that you mention it I have noticed he hasn't responded to him. I just figured he listened to the mods and left BB alone.

I was gonna but already saw a comment from someone at the game, so I just posted there.

But, yeah, interest in UAB men's basketball is at a nadir. Got to beat some power teams and get back in the real post-season.

I do wonder/worry what happened to BNBF, however. He's well-advanced in years and hasn't posted since Sept. 12.

I used to be a heavy poster during game threads, would occasionally start one if nobody else had after tip (or kickoff)

In the past I LOVED game threads (not just men’s basketball). If I ever missed a game (which is rare), I really enjoyed going back & reading them to get a good feel for the flow.

IMO, a couple things have happened.
1) in general, message board game threads have transitioned to social media platforms (I prefer the message board format)
2) BlazerTalk game threads became SOOO obnoxiously negative that they were really difficult to read. If we were favored by 10 & winning by 14, a few posters would dominate the conversation with how much the coaches, the players, the fans, the program sucked. Then, someone else would say “well, let’s not ignore the fact that so and so played pretty well”—the first person would accuse the 2nd of keeping his head in the sand. The 2nd would accuse the first of hating everyone at UAB. The pissing match rolled on and people genuinely interested in objectively discussing the game logged off

If, The football team can knot get to, 8 wins; I would say no bowl let em sit at home and get Hungry. Knot going to send them to the Islands or Boca. to get Scattered. They think they gonna sit at 6 wins and get pleasured you must be out your cotton picken mind. 2 more wins or nothing and get ready for spring.

I saw what I can only hope is a post by him on the Facebook page the other day. I refuse to believe that more than one person associated with UAB can’t properly spell a simple word correctly.

BlazerTalk has been a complete joke for some time. I literally only visit to laugh at all of the ridiculous posts. Outside of a small handful of veteran posters, it’s laughable. If BT closed tomorrow it would be a good day.

I'm thankful for BlazerTalk. Gives me an alternative to social media companies, at least for UAB info and discussion. I don't like their influence (Big Tech in general) on our culture and society so I'm always looking for ways to avoid their "services".

If I had never had to read or hear about another "tweet" in my lifetime, it would be a more peaceful world.

At least there's not politics here, or very little. One of the last places on Earth you can escape it.

So Blazertalk is what you make it. Make the kind of posts you want to read.
As for the thread title, I usually make the game threads but was unavailable last night and didn’t even get a chance to check the score until nearly halftime. Anyone can make a game thread though, so go for it.

I’ve been around here since the Callaway days. Have had to change accounts due To issues with logins following maintenance work. Anyhow, there was a group back then that didn’t want Callaway fired simply because he got academics, thanks in part to Garrison, back in order. Man wasn’t doing squat on the field but some thought he done enough 5 years in even without even a .500 record in any year to be given another year.

We’ve kind of got the same mentality for our hoops coach, “we’ll he’s a good dude”...... Cmon now. Can’t believe we have people leaving a message board because criticism is being given where it’s due.

How about the OC and OL coach? Good dudes....
