I hope you’re right, not sure how JMU does it but usually being cited on Senior day is those playing their last regular season home game and not just because you’re graduating and coming back.

My guess is that they may be undecided at this point and that is why they participated in Senior Day this year.

Is it just me, or did the RU game seem tame. I wasn't feeling the hate we usually do. This group of players doesn't really know the history and I think it takes away from the game. That, and we are dominating them every game. Diminishes the atmosphere.

It's because we are dominating them right now. Hard to call it a rivalry game when they don't have a chance. Some of us more experienced Dukes know how deep that rivalry goes and the youths probably don't appreciate it the way we do.

In fairness. If you started at JMU in 2016 you’ve only witness 1 home loss. I’d imagine most of them think everyone we play sucks haha

They haven't done anything to us in recent years to validate it.
For most of us here, we've seen the rivalry and events that warranted many to dislike them.
When you are witness to d-bags throwing bottles at you, it's hard not to feel something. However, if you miss those moments and just see JMU crushing year in and year out, they are nothing more than a punching bag.

This isn't even a rivalry anymore. A pitiful amount of maybe 200 or fewer UR fans bothered to show up.

We've passed them by so significantly that both sides are having trouble caring anymore.

Something major would need to change for Gilliespie at least to come back, can't speak to Fishpaw. At this point, he's not.

I have heard several friends of my daughter who are current students basically say this- “it’s boring and we blow everyone out. Why bother?”... not my kid, but a lot of other students have that attitude... that certainly beats the alternative, “we suck and always lose so why bother?”

You're not wrong, but another data point for why tougher competition seems to be in order.

My kid and all her friends and peers had that attitude in HS because their school crushed everybody and it would be 42-0 before you knew it and the starters never played into the 2nd half. It kept people away; and I always told them how hard wins can be for some programs and enjoy it while it lasts.

Too bad. Watching the recording of the game, on a lot of the plays I was watching RU‘s presason AA, CAA Defensive POTY DE #36 Maurice Jackson. He was usually lined up opposite Gillespie, who on most of the plays I watched was doing a job on Jackson. Jackson finished with only 1 tackle + 1 assist/.5 sack.

Speaking of watching the game recording on MASN, how hard is it to not miss the beginning of a play because you are:
-showing a replay
-or showing someone on the sideline or something else?

And why have it zoomed in on the QB at the beginning of the play (completely unnecessary), and not a zoomed out side shot showing all 22 on the field at least a couple seconds before the ball is snapped, so you can see what the formations and motions are?

I lost count of how many beginning of the plays (and a couple whole plays) that were missed, and others that when the ball was snapped was zoomed in on just the QB, or a shot from behind the secondary. Complete crap.

Shhh. We’re only allowed to ***** about non-JMU productions and FloSports. Nothing in your post checks out with the message board rules.

About 4 day old news. Was it already pointed out that Holloway got CAA Defensive POTW?
Quote:...Holloway recorded a season-high 15 tackles, a tackle for loss, a half-sack and a fumble recovery as JMU beat Richmond 48-6 to claim the outright conference championship.

It was the fourth double-digit tackle effort of the year for Holloway and his league-leading third fumble recovery. He helped spearhead a JMU defense that held UR to 265 total yards and a season-low six points while forcing four turnovers that led to 17 points.....
