He has been an absolute magician so far this year.

Holy cow who are these guys??? That’s two quality road wins against solid mid major teams! I can’t wait to get a couple of the injured players back to contribute! I’m so proud of Coach Boals and the way he has this team playing right now. Don’t get me wrong it’s going to be a roller coaster season but the difference in play vs. the past two season is amazing. You can really see the difference in coaching! Go Bobcats!

It’s hard not to be ridiculously excited about the direction of this team. Preston looks like an elite player. Dartis is coming back into form. There are new guys making meaningful contributions. And, by the way, some of the most promising players are injured and have yet to play. My brain is still expecting exasperating losses and long stretches of garbage play but my heart is dreaming of watching this team in Cleveland. At the very least we’re finally getting entertaining men’s hoops back in Athens.

All they have proved so far is they aren't as some feared the very worst team in D1 basketball this season.

Could they finish above last place in the MAC? They could have a winning non-conference record and still finish last.

No, that is not all they have proved.

Seriously, that's your take??? Did you have an overwhelming need to say something negative and that's all you could come up with? Congrats.

The comments above are about does this 3-0 monster start mean anything or does it not?

I can say with confidence that Ohio is not the very worst D1 team in the country due to it. That for sure. Many a times a MAC school has a nice non conference to finish at or near the bottom of the MAC.

Historically speaking Ohio nearly always has a winning non conference season. It hasnt been a reliable barometer about how the team will do during MAC play.

Cant tell anything at this point aside that the mens BB team isnt absolute dog crap which is a good sign for year 1. On schedule not ahead of schedule. Win Cleveland this year then the rebuilding job is ahead of schedule.

I watched a good bit of that. They were tied at halftime and it was back and forth the whole second half. It was tied with 2:00 left at 60, but Towson took some ill advised 3's and UF scored the last 6 points, mostly on FT's. The final score was UF's biggest lead of the night. Towson led by 6 halfway through the first half, but the game was mostly within 2-3 points the whole time. Towson looked good on the road against a ranked team.

Well, I guess by that reasoning nothing says anything about anything. Here are some nuggets for you. The Bobcats haven't won their first two true road games in more than a decade. The last time they won two OOC road games in a row was 2012. The last time they won two OOC road games in the same season was 2014. What does that tell me? Not much other than this team is a lot more competitive than many were thinking. But the biggest takeaway from the start of this season is the team chemistry looks tremendous and the ball movement is a 100 times better than it was last year. It's going to be a fun team to watch. Bobcat fans have reason to be optimistic, well, I guess except for you.

They didn't look too bad today. Villanova made 14 three pointers in this game while Ohio made 2. Take away 4 of those 3's from Nova and its a 12 point win not 24 points.

Ohio started with a nice lead and still competed in the the second half instead of folding. Definitely not total garbage and on schedule for year 1. Ahead of schedule and they beat Villanova.

Ohio got out to nice lead?? You mean 5-0? That's funny. It was Nova up 22 at halftime.

The problem is you weren't able take away those extra 4 three's or make any more yourselves. That's why it was a blowout. Might as well say if Nova had hit four more three's it would have been a 36 point win.

It was 17-6 Ohio out of the gate. Yes the game was on ice by half time.

They looked half way decent against a Top 10 team.

Ohio-Villanova Game Flow

That is what they said on the telecast. I didn't watch the first half.

Maybe it was 17-16 or 16-17 and I misheard.

Nonsense. You just make stuff up. Ohio's last lead was 9-7.

Closer look--OU's last lead was 17-16.

Flashes on the road beat Horizon favorite Wright St. 72-71 on a corner 3 by Danny Pippen with :08 left. Flashes trailed by 9 with just over 2 minutes left.
