Sorry Marshall but I think Tech would have taken this one.

Well, he wasn’t there and it was an ass-kicking.

Hopefully we will see in a few weeks, the 7point gift by the punter and bad snap would have been hard to overcome.

The real gift was from the Louisiana Tech administration and 'athletics counsel'.

It is a shame, I agree. I don’t known if someone had an axe to grind or what but Holtz should have the discretion.

We all know that if suspensions were being handed out for this, most in CUSA wouldnt be able to field a team. The NHL doesnt even test for it and the NFL test is a joke

It would have been nice to have taken a few days to sort out what "it" actually is and put together a group of people to assess the appropriate course of action for dealing with "it". "It" apparently wasn't domestic abuse, DWI, academics, cheating, or the several other allegations from "sources" over the past few days.

The fact that Louisiana Tech's administration threw out the knee-jerk punishment in 48 hours and quickly brushed everything under the rug with no further comment is extremely disappointing.

You too. Looks like the West will be on the line next week. Hopefully Allen can go. The third string QB looked pretty bad.

I know it's tough, but you have to move on. The suspended players hurts, but they we're not the reason you lost.

The suspensions were a big part of why Tech lost, but I believe The Herd would have won anyway...just much closer.....

They weren't the ONLY reason we lost, that's true. But the loss of 3 senior starters..."leaders" of the team...definitely affected our team's chemistry last night. As a Tech fan who's seen every game this season, I wouldn't expect fans of other schools to know that. So what, 3 guys sat the bench last night. Tech should have overcome. And that is true.

Only speaking for myself here, but I was really HYPED for this game. Tech and Marshall have been conference mates for 7 years now, and this was the FIRST regular season meeting between our schools. I have a ton of respect for y'all, and for me, it would have been nice to put our best foot forward for fans who know very little about us. It is what it is.

Not taking anything away from Marshall last night at all, you guys won the game fair and square. Congratulations to y'all.

By the way, do y'all actually SAY "y'all" up there? 04-cheers

yes, we say y'all. There's really two sections of the state of West Virginia. We are southern West Virginia.

I understand losing those players hurt, and all of the Marshall posters acknowledged that previously. Anyway, you still have a chance to fight to come back to Huntington. 04-cheers

Like I said a several pages back, I was hoping your guys played, I wanted to see where Marshall was.

Now that I covered that, the other reason is because I knew posts like these would be coming if we won a close game, didn't really expect Tech fans to post them after a decisive game, you guys are more knowledgeable than that.

Ten games into a season everybody is missing people for various reasons. We actually had our top WR last night for the first time all year, the guy who had 8-145. On the other side, our most explosive RB has been booted from the team, our best LBer broke his neck and has been out, our best safety got booted two weeks ago, our starting slot guy was lost for the season. It's always next man up in football.

If your punter doesn't drop a snap, if your center doesn't snap it 6 feet over the QBs head, it's a different looking game. Neither of those two things were caused by last minute replacement players. Your running game was held in check, but it wasn't because we changed our defense because your QB was out. We ran the defense we always run, which is about stopping the run anyway.

You guys have a good team, fast and physical, and hopefully we'll meet again this season if we can take care of business.

This was a great game if you're a USM fan. Way to go Herd! UAB it's your turn. If USM wins out and LT loses at UAB then we win the west.

My understanding was LT's practices were closed all week, something that hasn't happened all year right? That leads me to believe the suspensions were handed out LAST weekend and they practiced all week knowing who was going to start in the suspended player's places. What's the status with LT's backup QB Allen? Did he hurt his hand/thumb?

Watched the game last night and Marshall looked solid. Clearly, the suspensions by LT put them in a world of hurt offensively. Looks like the Herd is "Thundering" toward an East Division Championship. LT in the West? Not so fast my friends. Whoever emerges in the West, CUSA is going to have a Championship Game worth watching.

If Tech can somehow get past UAB. I really like our chances against Marshall with JMar back.

From what I saw from Marshall last night, Tech brings a passing game and doesnt gift 7 or 14 points. I really like our chances against Marshall even in Huntington, I think it could be totally different ball game IMO

UAB's defense is going to suffocate our hapless offense.

For what it's worth...if Allen can come back next week at least he gets good reps for next year. If it's Elliot, we are screwed.

Allen broke or dislocated his thumb on his throwing hand.

Before that he was talking trash to Marshall fans who really weren’t being that bad of hecklers.

Several LT players joined in, then a coach popped off too.

Hope LT comes back, those kids and coach acted like trash. Carries over to the field too.

Thanks but I like ncaabbs.com better (a/k/a csnbbs.com)

The game threads are now very easy to find.

Seriously I like your standardization even though I razz you about it.

Seriously you gotta put the date or day of week in it if you’re putting all the other random minutia. (My opinion only). Unless it’s Saturday.
