I hear his real talent is coaching linebackers.

Ian Rappaport tweeted:
#Ravens DC Don “Wink” Martindale is emerging as a top candidate as the coaching carousel spins, and his top choice of OC is a fascinating one. Sources say Martindale would be paired with #LSU wunderkind Joe Brady who set the field ablaze against Oklahoma.

National Championship today. Obviously a big game for Joe Brady, but could possibly be a big game for DJ Mangas as well. Good luck to them both, as I will be rooting for LSU tonight.

ESPN had a scroll the other day that read NFL teams are interested in Brady and LSU is working on a package to retain him.

Package was completed. It is a 3 year deal, but it would not stop him from going to the NFL if the opportunity came up.

Read like LSU is working on a new package. I read that scroll Saturday night but it could've been on repeat from earlier in the day. Or a more recent deal could restrict him from taking a college HC or NFL gig.

There aren't many college OC jobs I'd take over what he has at LSU so the new contract doesn't prevent much. I also wouldn't take an offensive asst job with an NFL team over what he has with LSU unless it was early retirement never have to work again money. But, there are numerous HC P5 jobs that would interest me...ie Washington State. Now, a full OC job in the NFL would be great. I read that the Eagles and Panthers are two teams interested in him.

Eh, I doubt they'd restrict that. Makes it harder to attract quality coaches if you remove their ability to move positions.

Another rumor is that Carolina's new HC wants Brady as his OC.

Brady looks like he has some coaching potential. Perhaps we've found our replacement safeties/special teams coach.

He'll enjoy getting to coach Luke Kuechly.

You should post that in basketball threads whenever references to fired coaches and imaginary wounds are shoehorned in for no rhyme or reason.

I agree with Rocco. I mean, it's not like we already had a WR coach who played in the NFL, CFL, and is currently coaching professional football. Of course Brady should've coached his former position and not take any coaching opportunity he could get a few months removed from playing. JL, Joey, and the entire Tribe Football staff are so stupid...imagine where Brady would be today if only JL had given him an appropriate gig.

What is Carolina willing to do to move up to #1?

RE: Joe Brady
We do realize that Brady was in the NFL previously, correct? Not only that, but he was with one of the greatest minds to ever coach the game, in Sean Payton. It’s not like he came up with these ideas while he was a 24 year old college coach.
