And down goes Penn State. Best we can hope for is they beat Ohio State and are both screwed.

Penn State has two games before the OSU game.. They got Minnesota this weekend and Indiana next... They're not flashy and I feel Franklin gets conservative when he gets the lead

Why do you think Ohio St. is overhyped? Are you going by previous history?

I'm looking at this season.. They've blowed out opponents that they should blow out.. When they played Wisconsin they were evenly matched the first half.. Wisconsin's defense just couldn't get off the field.. Ohio State does a good job at ball and time management.. I just don't feel they're the number one team in the nation.. I also don't feel that Bama is either, they have gaps in their team too that a good team can expose.

I didn't think Ohio St. was the #1 team either based on schedule. But I would not ranked them no lower than #2. Personally, I think Ohio St. is the best all around team in the country and if they played LSU, Clemson, or Bama right now they would beat all three teams. Just my opinion.

FAU's 45-21 loss to OSU now does not look so bad.

Agreed. But your loss to us is hideous. I honestly don't know how we've scraped by so many teams. Doing just enough, no more, no less.

Touche.

However, during our 11-3 2017 campaign, we had a similarly hideous and totally unexplainable (at least Marshall is a good team) one-score loss at Buffalo.

Yeah I remember that. That one comes back to haunt. I think your only other losses that year were like UCF who was damn good and a mid P5, right?

That was Navy.
Navy and Wisconsin were the two P6 teams which put 3-score defeats on FAU before the Lane Train barrelled through the CUSA portion of the schedule.

Wisconsin was ranked 5th in the nation.

And in 2018, it was 2nd ranked Oklahoma.

And this year it was 4th ranked Ohio State.

Perhaps, when we schedule only one P5 team, we should not schedule a top 10 opponent.

Here's what I think the CFP is going to have for the playoff:

LSU
tOSU
Clemson
Bama

They'll bump Penn State down to 5th and move Minnesota up to maybe 11th or 12th.. I would love it if Minnesota runs the table and beats Ohio State in the B1G Championship game.

Georgia and Auburn are too high. Georgia has a terrible loss on their resume. Too much is based off that sec patch on their uniform.

2 Big Ten teams is also ridiculous. We all know they stink it up against every other P5 conference when push come to shove. Penn will drop a game they shouldn't or two. OSU will lose by 50 to any southern team. We've seen this play out every year.

Bump

Always glad to see the Buckeyes fall. Their arrogance is so unjustified and yes they are always overrated.

I'm by no means an OSU fan but how were they overrated this year. They played Clemson tough and could have very easily won that game. Who else should have been in the playoffs?

Four AAC teams were in that first ranking, and they still had yet to play four games among the four, with each of them having at least one such matchup.
Three of the four were in the final CFP ranking.
Memphis may stay ranked in the final AP and Coaches' polls; Navy and Cincinnati still have business to take care of.
