UNI @Huskies
Sat 3pm central in DeKalb (be there). Panthers won their first game against Old Dominion at home 58 to 53. Panthers are led by Soph AJ Green who was MVC Freshman of the year, and is preseason first teamer. Halderman only shoots threes and was cold until he hit three in a row in the second half. The team as a whole shot 6-31 from behind the new 3pt line. Hope that 19% continues against the Huskies. The center plays tough (pfft or something like that) and they have a freshman Noah Carter who was 1st team all state. He had 13 minutes against ODU and scored five.
Ken Pom UNI 112 and NIU 140
Should be a good measuring stick for our Huskies.
Game on espn3, but be there if you can.
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNI under Ben Jacobson:
07-08: rebuild
09-10: 2 NCAA's, 1 Sweet 16, knocked off #1 Kansas (31-2)
11-14: rebuild
15-16: 2 NCAA 2nd Round's, 1 College Gameday (ranked #9 day of), beat #1 UNC & #5 Iowa St in regular season
17-19: rebuild
20: ???
I expect you'll see this year's UNI team in the NCAA Tournament after winning their league. Good measuring stick game. AJ Green is one of the best players we'll see all year, Isaiah Brown is a lockdown defender, and they have good role players with Berhow, Pickford, Phyfe, & Haldeman.

What would we give for half of this record.

MAC starts out with 7 of 12 teams receiving votes in the mid major top 25. Huskies are not one of the teams unfortunately. Northern Iowa comes in at #36. That would be a huge win for NIU if they can start the season with a quality win against the Panthers.

Being in a transition year in football, there would be no better time than to have a huge men’s bball season. I am really pumped for this game and hope like hell this team gels and creates some excitement. I will be at the game and fingers crossed we get a decent showing.
Any reason to think 2,000 could attend? Probably a pipe dream.

Probably not! I just hope the PA announcer, music and production of the game is loud and exciting and festive! NIU athletics does a horrible job of producing our sporting events. They are put on like a high school and not a major D1 college program. You create the illusion that is a bigger event than it is thus making if the thing to do! Somebody in athletics go to a Sox game a University of Wisconsin football or basketball game a Bulls game this is how we need to produce our games. This must be done regardless of attendance and eventually it will help enormously grow attendance

Agreed! No way will there be 2K there. As long as the roof doesn’t leak (or collapse) and they don’t run out of hot dogs, it would be considered a successful afternoon. The last thing I want is the roof leaking on my hot dog and making my bun mushy!

3pm is just a horrible dumb start time if you want a good crowd. Saturday games should be at 6pm. Make your games a event not just a b-ball game.
