Huskies where up 50-14 at one point, good defense tonight. Lacey looks great too!

I don’t understand Monty’s thinking with his last recruiting. He didn’t try and sign one scorer. This team doesn’t have enough scoring I can’t for the life of me believe he didn’t know that. This is going to be like Xavier Silas last year here. German taking 30 shots a game.

Huskies maniac, Lacey James looked terrible tonight. He is terrible around the rim trying to finish.

I agree DC1. Lacey did not have a good night but he will be fine. Just wish after three years he still did not shoot a power layup from his hip. If he just could keep the ball over his head and shoot it he would be all conference but every time he brings it down to his hip and goes up again and it gets blocked.

I do like the transfer Beane and the freshman Corcoran. Both are good passers and run the offense. I see them getting minutes playing with Geno and Trendon. I think Rod Henry will become the fifth guard. Those two guys are better than him. Hopefully Noah is not gone long. I do think they will have enough offense to have a good year.

Hoping this is a breakthrough year for the Huskies. Always good to dominate in your first game when not all is clicking.

Last night's game was not their first game. It was an exhibition. We shall see what happens in their first game this Saturday.

Agreed. Played 22 minutes and had 1 basket (1-6) against non-competition. Also led the team in turnovers.
Chris Johnson led NIU with 12 rebounds.
Cochran was Mr. Hustle. Love hustle but maybe too aggressive. 1-8 on field goals. Led the team in assists!
Other freshman Cole had some nice moves. Cole is the future of NIU basketball if we can keep him here!
German picked up right where he left off last season. Had the least amount of playing time of all Huskies but still led the team in scoring with 19.
We only beat em by 6 points in the 2nd half! And we scored 9 unanswered points to start the 2nd half.
A good look at the new players.

Heads-up observations, and thanks. Liked what I saw/read of Cole and Cochran when they were signed.

RE: The Unofficial Exhibition Roosevelt Game Thread
Anyone have any feelings about tomorrow's game? It's obviously hard to read the Huskies at this point because it's the first game, but UNI is a good team with some excellent shooters. With the usual slowness that the Huskies come out of the gate, if UNI comes ready to play (as I assume they will be), this will be a tough game. Are the Huskies up to it? I'm not so sure. I can only base my feelings on past performances, and we know how pretty bad those were. Hopefully the Huskies will score enough points tomorrow. I hope I don't have to bury my sorrows in a Convo hot dog (because there may not be enough of those either).

P.S. For those who saw the exhibition on Tuesday, how is the new 3-pt. line situated with the logo on the court? The old line was right up to the logo. Was the logo re-sized?

Does any one have any information on Noah McCarty or Justin Lee?

Someone said McCarty was in a walking boot, but, nothing about why Lee didn’t play against Roosevelt.

What about the kid from Antioch, Fillipone. He was a 3 point threat in high school. I apologize for lack of probably basic knowledge.

If he didn’t grab the 50 seconds that opened up when Caleb Ohleberg left he won’t play a single minute this season. This was his opportunity to get in a game.

I think every player available played. There were 3 guys in red pullovers (injured?) who didn't play. McCarty was in a boot. Don't know who the other 2 were.
