I think Candle and The Rockets are being inspired by the former Mac coach who recently led his Minnesota team to Houdini act wins over programs like Georgia Southern and both Fresno & South Dakota State and is now garnering national attention and a new contract extension!

A win is a win...but man, knowing that we truly have dropped down to a middle-of-the-MAC program in just 2 seasons is pretty depressing.

Kent State is not really much different from Pick-a-Mac team. They lost one score games to Ohio U. and Miami, along with us now. Their overall record is always going to be bad because they must play three P5 cash-grab games every single season. I was mildly concerned before & throughout about this game, but we escaped. UT obviously isn’t interested in winning any beauty pageants but the bottom line is that they are still the only team in the Mac with three losses, they have the best non-conference win of any team in the Mac (still give moderate edge to the BYU win over Eastern’s win at Illinois though the Illini seem to be hitting their stride now), unquestionably the best non-conference profile in the Mac, and all three of our losses have involved our 3rd string qb playing meaningful minutes in one way or another. We have as strong of a case to be considered the class of the Mac as any team in this total crapshoot of a conference, and now after this inexplicable tail-spin Ball State has found themselves in, it’s looking increasingly likely that they will have the chance to prove it on the field. My level of confidence isn’t exactly elevated at the moment, but these past three weeks have gone as well as they possibly could have for The Rockets.

We still need BSU too lose one more West game.

Not necessarily, if Western wins its final two games and we in our final three games, there would be a 3 way tie. Have no idea what the tie breaker would be since each team would have a loss to one of the three. I just really don't see us winning the final three games with this Defense. CMU and Buffalo seem to be hitting stride.

After head to head, the tie breaker is record vs. your side and Toledo would be 4-1. That bodes well for us. With CMU still having to play BSU, it's also not unlikely 4 teams tie at 5-3.
