Everybody got to play, and all the newcomers got significant playing time. Beacham got a double-double, Santucci, Black and Whitaker also with double figure scoring.

Rockets real sloppy in the 2nd half, but then again, they were playing lots of freshman and mixing lineups a lot. GSU had a couple talented players, but didn't look like they are gonna be that good of a team this year, so the next game is gonna be a big step up in competition.
Beacham led with 14 points, Whitaker 12, Santucci 11, Black 10
Beacham 10 boards, Black 7 and Santucci 6
Santucci also had 6 assists 2 blocks and a steal

RE: WBB @ Georgia St Game Thread
Clearly the better team after the hot start by GS. Not sure how good GS is especially given they have 11 new players and their leading scorer missed the game. Freshmen were OK but they didn't make much of an impact on the game. Success was driven by Santucci, Rokkanen, Beacham, Whitaker and Black. For me the big question is why are Whitaker and Beacham not in the game at the same time? They had 26 points sharing the post. Put Beacham at the 4 instead of M-E. Beacham is really a 4 anyway. That could be a really great combo.

The freshmen weren't standouts, but they were solid. Looks like a very good recruiting class. Great games tonight from Whitaker and Beacham. Georgia State is probably not very good, but a blowout road win is never a bad thing.

Feel much better about the future with this recruiting class than the last couple. Now all coach needs to do is develop the current players and stack a couple back to back really good recruiting classes. Then UT WBB will be back to where we all expect it to be.

Whitaker was very impressive. Too bad we only have her for one year.

We really dominated inside. Our center position (Beacham and Whitaker) produced 26 points on 13-16 shooting, 15 rebounds, two assists, and zero turnovers in 39 minutes. If you want to count Carlsten-Handberg's minute, then add one steal to the stat line.
