San Diego St doesn't.....
Think that totally takes out any prayer Boise had of beating a 1 loss AAC champion. Won't have the help with San Diego St.
I don't think anyone here thought Boise had any chance of beating out a one-loss AAC champion.

The quality of the AAC is far deeper than the MWC. The MWC in any given season may have 2-3 top notch programs but the AAC can have 5-7.

You are selling the MW short. In the five years of the CFP, the AAC has been better than the MW three times, the MW better than the AAC twice.
Even this year, the MW has done well, winning the most games against P5 of any G5 conference of the past five years. The AAC has built its huge lead in the computers by (a) being far better against other G5, and (b) getting SOS credit for playing (and losing) to top P5 teams.
But the AAC hasn't been any better vs P5 than has the MW.

In the first year of the CFP, the MWC was the top G5 in the Sagarin. In the last four complete seasons and this year, the AAC was the top G5 in the Sagarin. The AAC West is currently above both ACC divisions and the Pac-12 South.

But, the eyeball test shows that the MWC from the top 11 schools are strong while New Mexico is the weakest link. All of the MWC schools beat up New Mexico all this season.
The AAC have 2 biggest weak links. ECU and UConn. The top teams in AAC struggled against ECU who lost games by large numbers. The 5th best team in Temple, lost to Buffalo. That is Temple's worst lost on paper. Memphis's worst lost is Temple. SMU's worst lost is Memphis. Cincinnati and SMU almost lost to ECU. Temple have more than 50% chance of beating Cincinnati and beat Memphis again in the AAC playoffs. Memphis could beat Cincinnati. Now, will a 3 loss Temple get in over a 1 loss Boise State? I am sorry, no. AAC have not beat up P5 schools like the MWC schools are.

AAC has 6 teams in the Massey top 40, MWC has 2. You can cherry pick a loss or a close game all you want but rankings are across an entire season. And people make way too much noise about P5 G5 match ups. Besides the elite programs anyone can beat anyone.

Not every G5 over P5 is an upset folks.
South Carolina was a six point favorite.
"Favorites" are based on what Vegas thinks the public thinks - and the public sees "App State" and "South Carolina" and thinks "SEC vs whatever" and thinks the SEC team is naturally better.
But the computers said App State should win, which they did. Nothing unexpected about it to anyone who has followed the season. App State is a good team, SC is not.
Proving once again that human opinion polls will never be more accurate than computer power ratings.

TBH, the Gators probably should've dropped in the polls for "only" beating Vandy by 56... (Oh, I see they DID drop by 1)

I actually didn't know that. And, you are correct, that (among many other factors) highlights simply how bad this Commodore football team is.

Massey is wrong. It takes human input that could get certain schools in. Putting a very weak Cincinnati as the top G5 school had the numbers being fudged in the program. Maybe they were a former power conference in the Big East taint the computers to favor them over Boise State? It is not the first time that Boise State got screwed by the computers and by the pollsters.
