This will be a tough game for sure. I am most curious what our lineup looks like and how these new pieces work together. On paper we should be able to compete, but obviously we have big strides to take to actually compete. Hopefully our talent can be obvious and we play well. Line is 12.5, I do not think we cover but would be thrilled if we can

Tied 31-31 at halftime, the offense has been rough at times but the defense is keeping them in it. Getting some timely steals and doing a good job competing for rebounds. Like the energy, hopefully it keeps up in the second half.

Definitely working hard. Butler can dominate the CAA. We started slow but came around. Make some shots and we could be up big. Playing well for real. Showing our depth and talent. T.J. already looks the part.

Gonna have to check the boxscore, very curious how many turnovers we had in the second half. It was very sloppy, hopefully that turns out to be more first-game jitters against a more athletic team than something that becomes a season-long trend. Really excited to see what T.J. Bickerstaff brings to this team, he should be another ROTY contender for us. Overall, it's a single-digit loss, not much to be ashamed of.

Huge win for WBB tonight on the road tonight against a Quinnipiac team that's dominated the MAAC the past 5 seasons. Bailey led the way with 31 of Drexel's 66 points in a 66-62 win.

Men looked good at times but sloppy at other times. The still fought hard at Temple and covered the spread in their 70-62 loss.

Temple is a big athletic team. This was a great showing and in line with what most feel this team is capable of. Very impressed. Even with the mistakes and costly turnovers, we never gave up and showed excellent resolve. Defense looked much improved. Shots will fall at a better clip than tonight. We had some really good looks we missed. Butler and all really did some work down low for being outsized. I can really see Butler dominating the CAA. I liked how important rebounding appeared to be. We worked for good position throughout. Little things like that matter and add up over the coarse of the year.

Big teams give Kurk problems, tonight was no different. Tadas still shouldnt see the floor, but understand why he has to for some periods, especially against big teams like Temple. Net positive tonight. Outlook for the season is very strong, despite what the writers and coaches think.

Impressive opening night for the CAA. Drexel was the only team that lost last night, even though they were sort of impressive. 4 other teams beat DI opponents. And then there were 3 non-DI games that the CAA teams also won.

RE: Drexel Basketball Opening Night - TV and Radio
Including home court advantage, the main component of last season's Sagarin predicted Temple by 15.72. An 8 point loss - 3.13 for home court advantage is 4.87. You were 244th in the Sagarin last season. 4.87 points worse than Temple would have put you tied for 134th. I'm sure the Sagarin uses enough precision to avoid exact ties, but Jeff Sagarin doesn't release his formula so there's no way to tell if 4.87 worse than Temple would have been 134th or 135th. If Temple is better or the same as last season, playing like that every tonight would make you above .500 in the CAA. Before yesterday, how happy would you have been with a 10-8 CAA record?

With Brantley and Cacok gone, Butler is in the conversation for best forward other than Knight. Last season he was similar to JMU's Dwight Wilson.

To be honest Evan? Many of our fans are expecting top 4 this year. And that was before the season started. 10-8 is a reasonable expectation with our past road woes. I think that would be considered ok or expected but would not be found as exciting news to most.

I agree. Elon only beat non-Division I Mars Hill by 6, but Elon is expected to be bad.
