Hmmm...we don't have a chance in hell of winning the game but if we hit a few shots we should be able to keep it under 25.

The over/under has dropped from 124.5 to 121 last I checked.

the case for it being closer

from this jmu sympathiser i think they have uva overrated and are selling our dukes short after one game. they also set the line for the betting public who probably believes the same. uva's style keeps themselves under 65. i get the pack defense, but we had a warm up with the niners and believe we score more than 40 if the dukes can hit some early 3's and get confidence, i think we come in way under the number.

the case for it being worse

the dukes dont hit their 3's, we get killed on the boards, in the post and uva runs away and hides.

I don't think the rules committee did the low/mid majors any favors by moving the 3 point line back 16 3/4 inches for this season. That's usually a key ingredient in a big upset.

No doubt. 3PT % will go down across college hoops for sure. However, teams that have good long range bombers will be able to separate themselves from others.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there will be fewer 3PT attempts in the NCAA this year though. Marginal shooters will just become bad shooters until a coach gives the red light. It will be interesting to see which JMU players are allowed to shoot the 3 all year and which ones will be instructed not to take that shot.

Also, UVA seems to have very little depth. PG Kihei Clark played all 40 minutes against Syracuse. Get him in foul trouble and the Cavs will be out of sorts

Looks like we will take plenty of 3’s, the making of them looks like a challenge.

31 23 at half....not bad....need to keep this game close and this could be huge confidence builder. I really wish DJ was available it would have made a huge difference in the lane. Oh well.
