Now, and to be fair, various teams that have been in the Top 25 (Kansas State, for example) and that are in now in Top 25 (Virginia Tech, for example) have not looked particularly "Top 25-ish" game in and game out either. So it's not necessarily a "Cincinnati thing."

As to how much better (or not better at all) the AAC is compared to the MWC ... hard to say. The MWC, collectively, seems to have improved the past four games or so, while the AAC, collectively, seems to have leveled off — though still being VERY respectable from top to bottom.

but who cares if the MWC is looking like they're improving, when they're playing each other? Of course Boise is going to look great playing a putrid New Mexico team...…

I agree with this - you can't judge a conference as improving or declining based on conference games. All conference games are a wash. If Clemson beats Wake Forest by 40, that means one ACC team was 40 points better than who they played, but another was 40 points worse, so it nets to zero.

Only OOC games have bearing on how good a conference is.

I agree with this, in fact, i said "top 20" for a reason - if you want to have Cincy ranked around #23 or so - in the top 25 - I'm down with that. I just think #17 or #18, which IIRC is where the AP has them right now, is too high by about five spots.

Agree 100 percent.

USF is better than their record indicates, but wouldn’t be any better in the MWC.

well, USF beat BYU who beat Boise St..... oops.

You know the transitive property is garbage

Otherwise you are admitting that Memphis would be a middle of the pack MAC team...oopps

Remaining games for the G5 race:

Cincy -10.5 vs. Temple, @ Memphis
Memphis -14.5 @ USF, vs. Memphis
Boise -7.5 @ Utah State, @ CSU
App -29 vs. Texas St., @ Troy
SMU +3.5 @ Navy, vs. Tulane

I think Navy and Temple make this really complicated this weekend.

Utah State can pretty much finish Boise.... Tough game there...

If Cincy/Temple were @ Temple- maybe- but given it's @ Cincy, don't see it....

Will be interesting to see the SMU/Navy game....

I wouldn't count Utah State or USF either.
