New Turf Install at App State's Smith Stadium
Kinda got lost in all the football hoopla, but Smith Stadium received a new turf install.

Very nice turf on the baseball field, but absolutely beautiful fall colored mountains. Sure miss those Smoky Mountains.

I talked to one of the assistants during the install. The previous turf was a couple years past its expiration and was no fun at all as it had little to no fill. This turf has a lot of fill it in and I was told the turf company used GPS data to put the right amount of fill to replicate how fast a ground ball goes on a MLB field.

How do baseballs react off turf vS real grass? Just wondering if they bounce differently, how speed is affected on grounders, etc.
