ESPN Gameday
So, we are exploring in Memphis, TN today. ESPN Gameday is here this week for tomorrow’s Memphis - SMU showdown. The Gameday stage is set up on Beale Street. Very cool, and quite the production. Maybe one year Toledo will finally have that magic season and host Gameday. I’ll have to figure out how to upload some photos, haven’t tried to do that in years.

I’ve been praying for Gameday in Toledo for 20 years. The best bet, similar to BG/NIU awhile ago, is for 2 MAC teams to be undefeated early October for ESPN to consider hosting

Got to stop losing to G5's and get some big name wins. Be consistent.

Rocket Hall would be the logical spot, but dang the Centennial Mall outside of U Hall would look epic.

After week 4, I looked ahead and we had a chance to go up against EMU when they were 6-1 and we were 5-1 for last week... That possibly would have out drawn SDSU vs. NDSU. At least with help from Kentucky and BYU?

One day.

They would absolutely do in it Centennial Mall if they ever have it...but that would require two ranked MAC teams, undefeated deep into the season with some pretty good wins or a team with an absolute stud coming to town, two things that haven't happened in a very long time.

Yeah, the decent OOC teams coming in are scheduled too early in the season.
With SDSU, MSU, ND, and OSU on the schedule the next three seasons, there will at least be chances to get good OOC wins prior to possible big MAC games. If BGSU gets turned around in 2 or 3 years, a big rivalry game in October is the best bet.

Toledo vs. BGSU
Miami vs. Ohio
CMU vs. WMU
Toledo vs. NIU

I can't think of any other big rivalries of teams with star potential who could host one day.

Did WMU even get one in the Row the Boat days?

I figure it would take UT-BGSU on a non-MACtion TV option with both teams undefeated with wins over P5 Opponents on a week with no other Top 25 games. That's the only way a MAC school would get a Gameday IMO. Hell, that's the only way the AAC has ever gotten a Gameday, and we have more tanked teams than the ACC and PAC 12 combined.

Gameday was at BG several years back against NIU (10/25/2003).

WMU had it 10-0 vs. UB . The game was a 3:30 ESPNU game.

They played us the following week on ESPN2 on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
