Game 9: Elon
Not only is Crist a 2-way player. He is a 2-way difference maker.

At the risk of wearing him out too much, Yoder is that same type of player. He would be one of our better safeties, is a dangerous weapon on offense, and is our best kick returner.

Think his "glutton for punishment" was in reference to the debacle of the basketball team in the previous road game at High Point two years ago.

Didn't take it that way since all his comments on the football game were negative. I guess he didn't see the Tribe rush for 326 yards and give up 120 rushing. Or watch the emergence of Tyler Crist as a two-way player. Or see Anthony Mague finally emerge as a difference maker. Or watch a host of defensive players make play after play. Anyone who was there and couldn't feel the fire in this team wasn't paying attention.

We've had some down games, but this offense is light years ahead of last year. I'm expecting a win on Saturday at home.

Yes it is. Reminder for all that Elon was a playoff team last year and after some key injuries had gotten their mojo back with blowout wins over Delaware and Rhode Island. The CAA is a physical league and we played physical football at a very high level yesterday.

Game 9: Elon
I saw a couple people on Twitter seemed confused as to why our players celebrated so enthusiastically after the game. The game gave me a heart attack (btw, Flosports worked great 7,500+ miles away) so I can only imagine how our guys felt. Elon, Homecoming, favored by double-digits and we couldn't hit a stupid FG to save our lives. We won because those enthusiastic student-athletes refused to quit.

Anyone questioning why a now 3-6 tribe would celebrate a 5OT win at an Elon team that we haven’t beaten since 2015 who firmly believed they would run the table against us, Maine and Towson and go back to the playoffs is either ill informed or a hater.

Look if I can throw my phone and scream at my dog while just watching the game on tv, I think the players afforded themselves a little bit of celebrating.

It was a great effort by the team to beat adversity and win yesterday!!

Seems like all his comments were not negative as shown below:

"Did hear some good coaching of the D line, coach was telling the ends to quit running past the QB and keep him in the pocket. Started racking up sacks after that."

Also I agree with Tribeheart that you misunderstood his comment about "glutton for punishment"--it was not intended to be negative about the football game but about the challenges of the MBB plus probably a reference to traveling to yet another game Tuesday to see us play MBB at High Point

With KO return yds, true freshman @bronson_yoder9 currently ranks st nationally and needs just 16 more yds to break W&M's single-season record set by Jonathan Grimes in 2011.

The big takeaway for me on the highlight film was the enthusiasm among the Tribe players and all on the sidelines, start to finish. That's notable considering the group was on a five game slide.

I feel we may have a few pleasant surprises ahead.

You folks may disagree with me, but, in my opinion, any long-time Tribe fan is a "glutton for punishment" and is somewhat of a masochist. My wife, also a W&M alum, views my relationship with Tribe football and basketball as being just like that of Lucy, Charlie Brown and that football. Unfortunately, I am Charlie Brown in this analogy.

I don't disagree with you. I just tend to think about it as because of so many years of falling short, when it does happen, I want to be there. It's going to be all the more sweeter.

Well, let's hope you don't have to pony up another nickel to your wife for counseling after tonight's HP game.

That's funny.

My wife charges $65 per hour, so a nickel would be a bargain.
