New era is here. First potential "W" for Dane's HC career, against a seasoned HC. It's Tubby Tuesday. Any traveling Tribe fans, get your Tubby bobblehead.

Let's hope our size and senior experience stifles and takes advantage of their freshmen from the get go, and we play hard for the full 40 minutes. Will not bode well for the OOC schedule, if we don't take care of business in this one.

I am hoping for a performance like I witnessed in 2009 at Wake Forest or 2015 at NC State.

Don't want stinkers like at Winthrop and Campbell in the early 2000's or at High Point two seasons ago.

We will probably wind up with something in between these two extremes.

I don't believe I have ever seen a Tribe football or basketball head coach's first game before.

Looking at November schedule; my prediction is 2/6, maybe 3/5. Anything better is a marker for a great season.

I actually think we can start 4-0. No opponent has any clue what to expect. All they know about is Knight. No game film with Fischer's offense or defense since he's never been a head coach. I suppose someone may scour tape of Van Vliet and Barnes. Harrison hasn't played in two years due to injuries.

I for one can't wait to see what we've got tonight. I think we could win this one pretty easily.

There is a small item in today's Daily Press sports section that " Junior guard Jihar Williams of William & Mary
will not travel with the men's basketball team to High Point and will be out indefinitely to focus on his academics".

So, while not off the team apparently, Jihar is out pending his getting his grades up. Disappointing for Jihar
and the tea.

In my opinion this season goes as our backcourt goes. We have strong inside people, but if there are no threats out front, it is simply too easy to clog up the inside and slow that part of the attack down.

Let's hope Thornton finds his shooting eye early.

Game is on 10-7 tribe at commercial break. Looks like a high school broadcast at a high school gym.

Yeah, it's working for me. No score ticker, but we're a few minutes in and up by a few points. 10-7, I believe
