RE: UConn’s Edsall Slams "Generation Z"
Millennials are either told they're extravagant with their patronage of these "juice bars" I hear so much about (a fad that started way before millennials came of consuming age) or that they fetishize poverty by living in cheap urban neighborhoods and shopping at thrift stores.

There's not one generation that's more or less fiscal than the other. Everyone has things they'll blow money on and ways they cut corners. No one can act like boomers didn't spend a ton of money on records when they were kids and new cars as adults, whether or not they ate cheaply or didn't. I'm 27 and have never bought a new car, can never even imagine wasting money on something that depreciates the second you sign the papers. My grandmother loves to talk about all the new cars she used to buy in the 60's and 70's (and she was not wealthy), and my grandfather has told me at least once a month for the six years I've been in my apartment that I need to invest in a nicer place. I exclusively drink at dive bars and buy the cheapest household everything except toilet paper. I stay in cheap AirBnBs when I travel and own about 2 pairs of shoes at any given time until they've fallen apart.

But I eat out every day, frankly because grocery shopping and cooking are a chore I've never valued. I'll easily drop $50 on Big 5 tickets on top of my season tickets. I'll let the AC run on full blast from May through September and I have the best cable/internet package that I don't need, nor do I split it with anyone. I'll sometimes wake up in the morning and decide to eat the $25 parking ticket I'll have so I don't have to get out of bed and move my car.

Everyone's got their anecdotes, isn't that something

You realize the kids you're playing against are part of 'this generation', too, right?

I never respect a coach who says these type of things about 'this generation.' You realize they come in with iphones and whatnot a beat your as$, right? It's YOUR job to find the winners and coach them up, and then NOT ABANDON THE SHIP WHEN YOU START WINNING/LOSING.

Mike Leach tried this BS excuse a few years ago when, I think it was Portland State, beat his dumbas$ and he blamed his kids. Well, PSU's millenials lined up and whipped your butt, son. Stop blaming the kids you picked, recruited, signed, coached up, and then called the plays for. Be a leader and take the blame, jackas$.

Leach blamed his players hanging out with "their fat girlfriends" at Tech.

03-lmfao You are KIDDING me... Right? Did he really say that?

He said it right after Houston beat Tech on a last minute touchdown by Case Keenum. see my avatar

UConn needs to overplay some minor recruiting charges to get out of the Edsall contract and hire some cheap coach.

Stop it. Both millennials and Gen Z suck.

Gen X FTW!

I'm 36, thanks for telling us you are only 27. This is a textbook Millennial thought process. What nasty Bear Market have you been invested in and survived? Have you ever been taught the concept of Risk vs. Reward by a Finance Professional?

My grandfather was a poor Farm Boy during the Great Depression that served in the Philippines during WWII. Do you want to look more Stupid referencing "anecdotes" why you and your fellow 27-year olds aren't speaking German today? I'll be happy to make you look more Stupid if you persist.

I'd persist if I had any idea what you were trying to say here. Clean this up, compose a clear thought or two and get back to me.
