A lot of these rankings seem off.

Cincy's ranking is surprisingly high, and Houston's seems too low. Both teams have reloaded, but Cincy has a new HC and had to replace more players, so it may take some time for all the pieces to fit together. Most rankings seem to have Houston ahead of Cincy.

The AAC's 10th ranked team here is #117, suggesting something close to parity with the 10 teams in the BE if this is at all accurate.

Teams including Wichita, USF, Temple, UConn, and perhaps SMU, could all split their series' and finish in almost any order.

UConn being ranked ahead of USF doesn't seem right, given that both Jerry Palm and Joe Lunardi have had USF, but not UConn in their bracketologies.

People forget that UConn didn't even make it into the CBI, much less the NIT last season, so their returning unit isn't strong. Yes, they have very talented freshmen, but no guarantee that those freshmen will master the college game in one season.

I think these rankings are on point. Sometimes you just need to have a little faith and trust. You can trust these rankings.

When I first saw that Cincy was ranked no.11, I thought for the first-time that Temple must be a top-10 team.

Hope whoever came-up with these CBS rankings enrolls soon in a 12-step program, as it’s obvious they were under the influence when they compiled the rankings.

Question: Without a crystal ball, how can one determine whether these rankings will be more accurate than KenPom's or the various other rankings?

Did these rankings come out before the Grimes decision was announced?

TM

Cincy too high
Houston too low a little bit.
Wichita too low...should be high 30's.

Wow...we aren't in the 200's and also aren't last. Celebrate. COGS
I wonder how Norlander would've felt had he known Temple was returning more production and minutes than anyone besides USF from a team that went to the tournament. Like, in what world.

I really like Cincinnati, but I'd put them 25-30 right now. Houston is top 15, Memphis is 15-17 for me. I like Wichita in the 40's, maybe a little higher than 47.

I need someone to explain to me why anyone thinks UConn is going to be any good. They won 6 games in the league last year and lost Jalen Adams. When Adams went down, UConn finished like 2-7. Someone is going to need to tell me exactly what Vital and Gilbert did this off season to make anyone think they are going to double UConn's win total with the help of a couple of freshmen.

SMU and UCF also way too high. UCF might be really, really bad, and SMU lost their two top scorers after winning 6 games. Jolly was a good add and I like Chargois, but how is that team, that's done nothing but regress under Jank, finish top 85 after losing their core from a really bad team?

Memphis, Wichita, USF, Tulsa are pretty on point, everyone else is off significantly.

A lot depends on how you are ranking these. If you are saying these numbers correlate to expected end of year NET rankings, then the relative strength of the league should keep most of the teams Top 100. ECU and Tulane were historically bad last year but should be improved so i can see them jumping up to Top 150 ish.

ucf at 100 is fine... they have their second best big returning and best shooter
they added:
-- grad trans Dazon ingram 6'5 PG- 5th year senior (med redshirt), full time starter on bamas 2018 tournament team, averaged almost 10pts per whole career...
-- grad trans Matt milon 6'5 SG-on paper the best shooter in the conference
-- Yuat Alok- former #1 juco big (mid-year eligible)
-- Ibrahim Doumbia- touted south carolina sf/pf transfer

theyll take a big step back but have enough pieces to be competitive ..34-ish to 100 is fine..wouldnt be surprised if they do better than 100

smu is still waiting on waivers ..if they get both they could really compete..this will be their 1st year on full scholarships thats why thyll be better (defense aswell/better defensive pieces)...kendric davis (tcu) and darius mcniell (cal) are top level guards...but without waivers they have no guards, so id drop them too

That's the main difference between the AAC and the Big East. Bottom teams in the Big East are usually in the low 100's. Of course, this is Norlander's list and he's not a very good analyst.

Well, I like this guy already. Think we should give him a chance. He appears to have done some research.

He would have had to do actually research our players and like them to put us that high relative what everyone else is doing. Every other lazy preview I have read either says we will suck because we sucked last year, or worse 3 years ago which is even more stupid when it's a completely different team/ even coach either way. That or these preveiews say we are screwed because all these players transferred last year which all it would take is 30 seconds to look up where they transferred too and know they sucked and we are better off with out them.
