I mean for the league to get 3 top 4 seeds, those teams are going to have to get a lot of conference wins- like at least 12-13 for all 3 of them. Then for the other 3 to get top 8-9 seeds- going to take 10 at least. That's 69 conference wins just right there for the top 6 seeds, with only 21 left for the other 4 teams. 12 of those 21 wins are just head to head with the other 4 teams playing each other. Doesn't leave many wins vs the top 6 teams.

I think it'll be interesting to see just how good St John's and DePaul are this year. If they are 5-6 win good- it's goign to really put a crunch on that 2nd tier of teams.

Agree fully.

Disagree. The scenario above would definitely make it work as a lock... but it doesn't have to be that way. Several of the top tier BE teams have some pretty difficult OOC schedules. 3 teams can get top seeds and we could still get 3 maybe even 4 (that's a stretch) in with 9 wins in conference play. Heck, if Seton hall blows the doors off their OOC but slip in conference play, they could still get in with 8 conference wins depending on who they win/lose to. I feel like a broken record, but OOC matters and affects bids just as much as conference play.

Definitely agree with you that OOC matters....

HOWEVER- for the Big East to get 3 top 4 seeds- the 3 teams are going to have to go bare minimum 12-6 in conference play..... And have done really well in OOC. last year for top 4 seeds- every single top 4 seed had at most 9 losses. With only 4 having more than 7 losses.

Also- Seton Hall could get in the tourney with 8 conference wins and a great OOC with the schedule they have- but is sure as hell wouldn't be as a top 4 seed.

Yeah, in this scenario Seton hall wouldn't be one of those top seeds. I'm just saying it doesn't "have" to turn out with the requirements put up above. There's so many variables, a lot more ways for the scenario to turn out. Right now, I'm just being cautiously optimistic for a strong OOC season for the BE this year and then we'll see where things stand.

To get 3 top 4 seeds, yeah you pretty much do have to have 3 teams with at least 12 conference wins. A 11-7 team would have had to be almost perfect OOC to get a top 4 seed.... And frankly maybe even more- Big East has had 10 top 4 seeds. All finished with 12 conference wins- and all but 2 had at least 14 conference wins.

RE: AP Top 25 out
Not much movement other than Xavier being leap frogged by a couple teams that played higher level competition.

Top 25:
Villanova - 10th
Seton Hall - 12th
Xavier - 21st (down 2)

Again, not a ton of movement except for 1 team. Providence took a big jump from getting just 1 point in preseason to 23 this week.

Others:
Marquette - "29th"
Providence - "31st"
Georgetown - "38th"
Creighton - "41st"

I think we actually received more votes this week, but still moved down.
