Would we move to a 9-game conference schedule and if so, would Navy go along with it?

I'm fine going divisionless but would be concerned if a team with a matching conference record to two other teams go snubbed due to ranking or SOS. With OOC schedules being made so far out in advance, it seems as if it would be tough to predict how good some schedules would be 10 years out, for instance.

If we go to a nine game schedule, one positive would be that it would make OOC scheduling easier (or so I would think).

Thoughts?

I think it will stay at eight conference games. Personally, I just prefer the four OOC games. So, I would rather it be just eight conference games.

AAC has no intentions of going to a 9 game schedule at the present time...and Navy would definitely be against that...and that is the last team AAC wants to tick off as they have an option (like they had for decades) of being Independent.

Let them go. Solves our problems. They care more about their non-cons anyway.
Fans of small but prestigious private schools with tiny attendance and minimal impact on revenue sports should probably not throw stones.

Aresco has already said publicly that 4 OOC games are very important to the AAC members & that it would not change.

Like the SEC and several other conferences before about 1990.

Permenant rivals with rotational games.

1. Head-to-head
2. Overall Record
3. Some computer metric

An additional factor (which the Big 12 should add) is including the #1 team when there is a tie for #2; this would make “record against #1” a larger factor, weeding out teams who already failed to beat #1 and rewarding teams who defeated #1 yet lost an extra random game.

No because there will be a championship game between the top 2 teams to determine the champion.
