I see BigBubba hacked your account again. The "none of you know" and "this is nothing more than speculation" bits are 100% BB.

I agree. Certainly could have used some inside running against JMU. With wright, funderburk and some Lester and crist occasionally we should have been able to take advantage inside more than outside against them. We lost any advantage in our running game as soon as we ran East-west.

Indeed, it is as if no coaches know about JMU. They are always loaded with team speed, and you do not play to that strength.

This was endlessly frustrating. Sometimes we wouldn't even give it to our quicker backs and ended up running the equivalent of fullback sweeps.

Is there anyone more familiar with our offense who knows if we're actually making post snap reads on handoffs or is the play always called in from the sidelines?

As I recall, according to the promotional video with the offensive co-ordinator, backs were being instructed to read the linebackers after being handed the ball and make cuts accordingly.

Coach London inherited the weakest offensive line at W&M in memory and it will take two years opf recruiting to rebuild it.

I can not agree with this. While not fast that is a big, strong and physical offensive line with a fair amount of experience. Use them appropriately. Zero excuse on that front.

I disagree.

I hope that you do not amuse yourself thinking that you are friends with the current OL members, or friends with the former OL coach who is now in the Tribe Club, because ... what were you thinking, posting this garbage? Was this "potshot" necessary to post?

The offense struggled during the end of JL's tenure, and there's a new coaching staff with a different philosophy. It wasn't going to be pretty for a while. The stellar QB play of Mathis in the Lafayette and Colgate games made us forget the reality of the situation. The injury to Mathis hasn't been helpful to the overall situation. Playing #5 and #2 without Mathis was going to be a rough deal, and the squad did great against Nova ... not so much against JMU. Let's just leave it at that.

I don’t disagree with a word you said, but this training staff and doctors allowed Mathis to play in the Albany game. Just saying.

A note on the o-line........Marion doesn’t keep backs or TEs in for extra protection very often. Anderson takes too long to read progressions and Mathis just takes off.

On running plays it appears that there are specific holes on some plays, but much is zone reads by qb and rb. My guess is that the team is still learning it. I will also say that Marion was yelling at some linemen on Saturday.

Just curious as to why Shon Mitchell fell off the earth?...probably not the right thread to ask this on. He was All State at a high school powerhouse, and he is 4th string now, apparently.

London wouldn't get credit for a successful offense if the QB was someone he inherited, so he had to install one of his people to run his offense.

If that in fact is the case; ML is a lowlife.

I'm pretty sure London would trot Rocco out at QB if he thought the offense ran best through him.

Game 8: Maine
One quarterback is ready to return for William & Mary. Another QB’s status remains uncertain.

* spoiler alert, Mathis is ready

Anything to get that one last P5 contract.

(To be clear, when I put the tinfoil hat on, that's me not being serious.)

If we are ever going to crank up the pressure from our defense it has to be this weekend. Big, tall freshman qb that has been throwing A LOT and getting sacked A LOT. Time to start bringing the backers. A 3-4 defense relies on linebackers for pressure and we just haven't been bringing them very often. Let's get after it!! And I hope Hollis is ready! 27-17 good guys!

Sounds like a great time for tighter coverage and a 5 man rush...
