RE: Mens 2019-2020 Basketball Predictions
I'm shocked we were picked 11th out of 12th overall........We received 16 votes, and Ohio U received 12! Who will be our leading scorer? Who'll be our starters? In 30 years following EMU athletics, this is a first for me...….Groce and Toure, and then who? I hope two REAL 3 point shooters...…..It'll hard for teams to get film on us!!!!!! TEN new players is still mindboggling period!!!!!! If only Micah Thomas stuck, then we would've had a real shot to do something special! He was our 20 plus point scorer......That's not in the cards though! GO HURONS! Montero, Gibson, and Miles look good on film, Barnes was 1st team all state in California, and that to me shows big time potential! Binelli can stroke it...….this team is going to be interesting to watch, and hopefully develop! BGSU was picked last, last season!

Good point on BG. It’s proof that you just never know. I’m pretty sure the last time we were picked to finish last in the MAC West, we won the division.

Mens 2019-2020 Basketball Predictions
The bottom line is that none of us really know what to expect from this team. Everybody is new and most of them are a mystery. Regardless of how well the individuals play I just want to see them play within a team system. To me that's the number one thing Murphy has failed at. No half court offensive system.

I agree 1000 percent with your assessment! Dribble dribble dribble, and then run the weave 35 feet from the basket...…..wasting any inside presence, or size advantage by actually running a play! It appears from film we might have a few shooters! Only time will tell with this new squad!

RE: Mens 2019-2020 Basketball Predictions
I have a friend who predicts that all predictions about this team, etc. will be wrong. This will not be 2018-9 deja vu.
If you want a NBA analogy it is the Washington Wizards. On paper, a team which under-performed badly last season and is in a rebuilding mode.
They have Beal (26), Brown (20), Bryant (23) and Hachimura (21) starting with kids on the bench. They put up 158 points Wednesday in a 1-point loss to Houston.
They are 1 - 3 (first 3 on the road) with losses by 8, 2, and 1 plus a road win.
My guess is that both EMU and the Wizards will over achieve as folks simply look at returnees.

I agree. At times Murphy teams have been plagued with ego and selfish play Issues this group may actually play team basketball

RE: Mens 2019-2020 Basketball Predictions
Honestly I just want to see what Ty Groce does this year. Quite frankly, he is now The Man on this team and he brings a whole lot of potential to the table. Compared to his predecessor, Elijah Minnie, Ty is light years ahead of him athletically in terms of foot speed and jumping ability. I still think Murphy has had him playing on egg shells the past two years but this year the coach will be more dependent on him. Minnie threw up two air ball three point shots last year in and stayed in, this year it is Ty's turn to do so and I can't wait to see what happens.
Toure is certainly an above average MAC center and I truly believe Parris will be a serviceable if not good point guard, he handles the ball far better than McAdoo did, but his shooting skills to date have been suspect. Still I think the newcomers present a degree of unknown excitement, thus I renewed my season tickets.
