Exclamation ****W9: MT (2-5) vs FIU (4-3), 2:30, NFLN****
MT Homecoming, iffy weather maybe, QB controversy brewing, best player on D out with injury for the season...

FIU opened as 2.5 point favorite

Predicting an ugly game...

Big challenge and game for FIU in our hopes to be Bowl eligible down the road.

MT is headed quickly into spoiler mode and have their sites on ruining the Toppers’ day in a couple weeks or so. A bowl is pretty much out of the picture now.

Everyone was saying the same thing about Middle last year. How the latest loss had put them out of it and I was almost tricked into getting a hate boner back then. But what happened? Middle won a bunch of games and backed into the championship against UAB. That’s what happened.

So forgive me if I don’t buy into the yearly chorus of Middle fan’s favorite song of ‘Woe is Me’.

Doesn’t matter what the records are when we play it’ll be a tough game. As a matter of fact of all the games left on our schedule I want to win against Middle more than any of them. We’ve already exceeded everyone’s expectations of us. Not sure how much longer we can keep up the smoke and mirrors we’ve been using to win games with no offense.

We have the toughest schedule left of anyone in conference. But I’m used to that. The two years we won the conference we had the toughest schedule conference wise of any of the contenders those years.

We've already lost more conference games this year in mid-Oct than we did all of last year. I think it's safe for you to go jerk off now.

I'm very excited for this game. It will be a good measure of how much the FIU team have improved since the beginning of the year. The additions of Chris Whitaker and Alexy Jean-Baptiste has really provided depth to the D-line that wasn't there for the Tulane, WKU, and (to some extent) La Tech games. I really wish FIU played WKU at the end of their rather than the beginning, but you know what they say about ifs and buts...

What would MT fans say the strengths and weaknesses of their team are right now?

With a QB fight brewing and our star safety out for the season, hard to find too many strengths right now.

80% chance of rain at kickoff and increasing during the game to 90%

Wind: SSE 20 mph

Desperately seeking bodies in the stadium, the athletic department has suspended the prohibition on umbrellas.

Asher is so explosive. He’s hungry for yardage and it’s fun to watch that determination play out.

That was another terrible call. This time on replay. Didn't hurt us with the missed field goal but...

Thomas bobbled the interception play but then got it under control and took two steps up the field (i.e. a football move as they like to say before he was stripped). That was an interception and fumble not an incomplete pass. And for it to be called that way on the field and overturned was a really bad call by replay booth.

I couldn't believe that call...meanwhile its pouring rain right now, going to be interesting half.

Wish they could’ve capitalized on the turnover but I’ll take a FG. This likely won’t be the last turnover in such poor conditions. Sloppy football the rest of the day.

Hate boner. I love that :)

FIU down 3 turnovers to zero... this is a wonky game.

Most physical MT has been all season. Owning both lines of scrimmage.

Yep...usually, the team than turns it over loses...I know its been our way, especially on the road. A few weeks ago at FAU, we had 3 TOs and they had known - we out gained them in offensive stats but lost.
