RE: Week 9 SEC Games
I have a question: how in the world was Trask sitting behind Franks in the depth chart at Florida? Mullen can eval quarterbacks so why the loyalty to Felipe?

You're not the only person who has wondered that.
My only guess is that Dan Mullen loves having a mobile QB. In all my years of watching his teams at Mississippi State, I can't remember them ever having a QB with a pro-style skill set. I think Mullen's love for that style blinded his judgement here.

Well Trask was a liability with regards to fans and boosters without him having a justification to enter the lineup, like Franks going down. Just think if you start a QB that never started in High School and you lose a close game who gets blamed? The coach. You start the much ballyhooed Franks (who I think is a head case) and you lose and it's "Tough break coach!" from the donors.
IMO Trask is the ticket. He plays within himself, is a student of the game, has good field vision, and is humble with the team. He's a winner!

But Franks was bad last year with spotty play that cost the Gators at least 2 of their 3 losses in 2018. I didn't think Felipe had much support in Gainsville coming into this season, but I could be wrong. IMO the Gators would have lost at UK, AUB and SCAR with Franks at QB. The change has made Florida a legit chance east contender.

I think this statement is the absolute truth. Franks was a head case in several ways. He couldn't focus and see the field. He got rattled easily. And, he was all about Franks. That's a recipe for failure right there.

RE: Week 9 SEC Games
Last week Moorhead made a pitch for sympathy, noting his 18 y.o. daughter was crying after the game, followed later by denials that Rutgers was pursuing him to be their new football coach.
Focusing on himself and his family's emotions is not the answer. Even in past rough seasons, MSU usually showed a competitive, SEC defense. Not this year. Instead of improving, they have gone in reverse. The offense sputters, sometimes showing quality play-action, but doesn't develop consistency. There have been disciplinary problems on the team throughout the season.
MSU makes too many mistakes, drops too many on-target passes, and blocking and tackling is loose and lackluster. These are fundamental aspects that point directly to coaching. Moorhead needs to speak to the basics, not to feelings.
Whip the team into shape, and recruit players that fit the system and not predicted to be trouble.

I can't recall a State team being this weak since the early 70's. It's headed the wrong way fast under Moorhead.

Don't have a clue. Missouri is benching him for the next game though.
