RE: FB Class of 2021
Lisa, the mother of Jake Hoying, the newest Bearcat QB from Bishop Watterson, is the sister of Amy Fickell, the Coach's wife. So Landon Fickell is Hoyings first cousin, and Coach F is Hoying's uncle. Watterson plays a spread offense and Hoying is a good passer and athlete. His father is Bobby Hoying who played five years in the NFL and started 22 games at QB playing at 6-3 220. He was 30-7 with tOSU. With Watterson Bobby Hoying is a non-coach offensive consultant. He is Principal of a land development company in Dublin, OH.
Hoying is a good pickup for the Bearcats because he doesn't need a scholarship and QBs are leaving UC because backup Evan Prater is the real deal. Hoying can probably stay with his Aunt and Uncle because the Fickell house is large. Coach Freeman (who?) with his six children stayed with the Fickells and their six children in 2017.

I'm not sure how it works exactly at UC, but wouldn't he want to join his cousin living with the rest of the players even as a preferred walk on? Or is that housing strictly for scholarship players only?
Sounds like pops makes enough money for living expenses and in-state tuition, but I'm a cheap a$$ so would understand saving the dough as well especially if he can't live in the players housing.

Corrections
1. Jill Hoying is Bearcat Jake Hoying's mother, not Lisa.
2. Bobby Hoying played six years in the NFL, not five.
3. Having a football scholarship at UC is much better than any alternative.
Jake Hoying does have Cincinnati roots; his great grandfather is Reds player Wally Post who is in the Cincinnati Reds HOF. Post and Gus Bell were voted as starters for the 1957 All-star game, thanks to Reds fan write-ins. The two were replaced as starters by Willie Mays and Hank Aaron. I used to waste 3 innings at Reds games trying to write-in Reds players with stub pencils.
Bobby Hoying's career NFL stats compared to Bearcat NFL QB stats:
Hoying 2544 passing yards 11 TD passes
Jack Lee 6191 passing yards 46 TD passes
Greg Cook 1865 PY 15 TDP
Ray Nolting had 3 TD passes and he was a HB.
