Needs a miracle: Duke and UNC both with 2 losses and teams that hold the tie breakers ahead of them.

It's all over: GT and Miami with 3 losses. Both can play spoiler. GT still has both one loss teams. Miami plays at Pitt next weekend.

You can cross Duke off...,they now have losses to Pitt and Virginia. They're done

RE: Crazy Coastal Outlook
Per the All ACC show tonight, current FPI chances to win the Coastal:
1. Virginia- 65%
2. UNC- 16%
3. Pitt- 13%
4. Virginia Tech- 4%
5. Duke- 1%
6. Miami- <1%
7. Georgia Tech- <1%

UVA clearly is the favorite when you view the standings, their tiebreaker over Pitt, remaining schedules and consider the eye test. 65% seems a tad high to me subjectively however.

I anticipate another Cavman loss soon resetting the division yet again.

Those percentages sound like someone pulled some numbers out of their arse

Basically Duke, Miami, and GT are eliminated

I don't agree with VT being only 4% when we control our own destiny. So there's only a 4% chance we beat WF GT Pitt and UVA? None of those are looking like world beaters.

I don't agree with VT being only 4% when we control our own destiny. So there's only a 4% chance we beat WF GT Pitt and UVA? None of those are looking like world beaters.

Given that VT is 3-4 in the past seven years against Pitt (2012 was a non-conference loss) and 3-4 against GT in the past seven as well, even if you think those are 50-50 games that means you have a 1 in 4 of winning both. WF is actually playing really darn well right now, that may be a 50-50 game too at best, you're down to 1 in 8 of winning all three. I won't say anything about UVA except that it is on the road.

It isn't like VT has been world-beaters this year. Beaten @BC (who then got shelled by Kansas, yes Kansas at home), Blown up by Duke at home, close win over Furman, decent win over Rhode Island, a strange one @Miami (who proved to be fallible) and a gritty win over UNC at home.

Now if you manage to win those three and face UVA for the Coastal title? Yeah I'll actually bet money on VT cause something in UVA's head keeps them from winning this game. 5000+ days and counting.

If Miami ends up 5-7 and home for the holidays, they're gonna look at yesterday with a lot of regret. This was a bad loss for them. At 3-4 currently with games left @Pitt, @FSU, Louisville, @FIU, and @Duke this could be tough to get to six.

Pitt is a tough team, not incredibly talented but not an easy win. Current forecast for the game has it cooler (mid-50s) and rain. A small hangover from this weekend could be deadly for their chances.
FSU can go either way, rivalry game where you throw out the records.
Louisville is playing rather well under first-year head coach Scott Satterfield.
FIU should be a win
Duke depends on which version shows up: the one who steamrolled VT or the one who forgot to show up against UVA.

Winning three of these final five games might be a bit much. Finishing a five-game homestead at 3-2 was not what they wanted.

I updated my post to reflect that VT needs a Duke loss to return to Charlotte. I mistakenly said they control their own destiny. They, like Pitt, need help to get there.

RE: Crazy Coastal Outlook
UPDATE after the 10/26 games:

Everyone has at least 2 losses. Miami and UNC winning shakes up the top.

Controls their own destiny: The Coastal destiny goes through the Commonwealth of Virginia. UVA & VT Win out and go directly to Charlotte. UVA picked up 2nd loss today.

Needs help but can still make it: Pitt missed a golden opportunity to sieze control of the Coastal. Pitt with two losses needs UVA to lose another. If they win out and UVA loses another Pitt returns to Charlotte. UNC with 2 losses needs VT to lose another. Pitt and UVA are must wins, both could help with VT.

It's likely over: GT, Duke, and Miami with 3 losses. Can still play spoiler. GT still has both Pitt & UVA. Miami beat Pitt today.

One thing is for sure, this won't be settled anytime soon.

Making things messier if it gets to tie-breaks ... GT has a loss in the Atlantic against Clemson. UVA has a loss in the Atlantic against Louisville. Technically this is beneficial in the tie-break as they start with divisional record among the tied teams IIRC.
