I think USF will be our toughest game in the next 4. Tulsa and USF probably similar caliber teams, though I think USF is more talents and that game will be on the road.

Bearcats who have All-Pro NFL Players Jason and Travis Kelce – 35

Tulsa Golden Hurricanes with great “names” in the NFL: Stub Blackman, Ham Harmon, Jeb Blount - 7

Right now, Tulsa only has one player in the NFL, Charles Clay of the Cardinals.

Yep, if we believe SMU is really good, Tulsa took them to the wire.

With the opportunity the Bearcats have before them this season, they can't afford another sluggish start such as what we saw against an inferior Miami OH squad.

Tulsa has played teams tough up to last week. SMU isn’t that good. Best teams in the league are UC, UCF, and Temple.

Tulsa and USF are close. I’d give the edge to Tulsa but I definitely should have said Tulsa will probably be the toughest team we play over the next 4 games. Considering USF is on the road it very well could be the toughest of the next 4. They are such a strange team to get a feel for so far this year. Up until they beat BYU at home this weekend their best win was against UCONN, and BYU has been down this year.

We should know more about USF by the time we play them.

It appeared from the clips I saw that they had a pretty good crowd for the BYU game. But I know BYU travels well, so I'm not sure of the mix. I can't imagine USF will half fill that NFL stadium for our game down there.

I do agree that South Florida has some talent and speed and maybe they are a late blooming team this year. I guess I'd fear them more than Tulsa, partly because it's a road game and those can often turn on a few untimely turnovers or penalties.

Oh well, we've got plenty of time to worry about USF--let's get Tulsa and roll on.

RE: Predict the UC v Tulsa score!
I see this as a potential trap game.

Tulsa's losses are all to good teams. Michigan State, Oklahoma State, SMU and Navy. Their only wins are over halfway decent teams - San Jose State and Wyoming have both beaten SEC teams.

I think we win thanks to the toughness Fickell has instilled in this team. But if we don't come out to play, we'll be upset.

UC 27
Tulsa 24

RE: Predict the UC v Tulsa score!
After watching Navy's defense dominate Tulsa's offense, UC should do a similar number on them. Tulsa's oline got owned all night in that game. Running game only got 69yds, gotta think UC's front is more physical and athletic. Santana and Stokes are the WR's UC has to cover, and they really couldn't get anything against Navy's DB's. Just can't get beat over the top like the Houston game.

Tulsa's defense couldn't stop the run game, Navy only completed 3/5 passes for a total of 35yds. Navy's QB ran for 218yds, and their FB (best RB) left the game in the 2nd qtr. That was also with Tulsa playing 8/9 in the box all night. Navy's offensive line, on average, was 50lbs a player lighter, and they pushed Tulsa's dline around all night. Dline depth was a big issue for Tulsa. Have to think UC's oline will be able to get a decent push, especially into the late 3rd qtr and 4th qtr.

Defensively, UC should dominate Tulsa - I cannot see Tulsa scoring more 17, unless it's garbage time points. Offensively, UC should be able to run on Tulsa. Ridder should be able to find room on zone reads and keepers, and continue to control the passing game like the previous three games.

I'd like the OC to call a more aggressive game, the 2nd and 3rd qtr of last week's game was absolutely passive and predictable play calling.

UC rolls Tulsa, 35-13

The caveat is navy's run offense is completely different than Cincinnati's. Getting destroyed by a triple option team doesn't mean they'll get destroyed by UC's run game. I try not to read too much into run defense against navy.

Simply pointing out that even stacking the box with 8/9, Navy was able to push around Tulsa all night. Their front was not very physical against a smaller oline. Okie State torched Tulsa for 350+ on the ground. Spread out their defense with the threat of the pass, UC should be able to find running lanes on them. IMO, UC should stay to inside runs, the continual calls to run outside last week against Houston was maddening.
