Pft. Michigan has won a title more recently and won more of them. You'd be surprised how many teams have more titles than UGA (1, 1980) and have one more recently. Including Georgia Tech. :)

Nah, he's right to mention Georgia. Georgia is 11th all time in wins, 14th in winning percentage, 14th in the number of games played by players in the NFL, and tied for 3rd in bowl wins.

All of that suggests an all-time top program. Not as high on the chart as Michigan, but way up there.

I was comparing UGA to UMichigan in that they're both all hype, not that UGA has as many titles. (I have family who are BIG GA Tech fans; I'm well aware UGA is an inferior program compared to GA Tech [and UMichigan] in a nationally, historic sense.) UGA & Umichigan both predicted to win National Championships every year the past few years, always choke and fall flat on their face compared to the real contenders (Ohio St and Bama)

FWIW, I would day Georgia is way ahead of Georgia Tech historically, except when you go back to extremely long ago, like 100 years ago.

For starters, Georgia leads their series 67 - 41. That's an enormous edge. Georgia also has more all-time wins, a higher winning percentage, more bowl wins, more NFL players, etc.

Not with GA Tech's more recent title, but definitely UGA's series lead and consistency keeps UGA in discussion
