Yeah...but that 4th down pass to the end zone was ballsy as hell. Southern refused to lose that game.

And not in a good way. You throw to a guy that has had some critical drops this season when it's raining on a play where you either get the TD or lose the game?

Going into our game with ZERO expectations
Our defense is really pretty good minus our obvious problems at safety. We've got one good safety and the rest are true freshmen or just not very good.
One thing I'll say about Ted Roof from following Tech...when you think his defense has turned the corner he puts up a stinker.
I'm not expecting to win at all, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was close.
GS looked bigger faster and significantly more talented than Coastal. No disrespect intended to the Chants! Great game and a well coached team. GS has a coaching issue that no one saw coming. Something is wrong with the offensive philosophy Debesse is hanging his hat on. The frustration is compounded by the lack of adjustments halfway through the season. Werts is playing quicker with more confidence but his talent is irrelevant with the Xs and Os we’ve seen this year. Unfortunate.
Our game makes the first page of ESPN.com! Well, actually, it's the weird team penalty flags for dance taunting the refs threw. And I'll provide a link for the song they were jumping around too (which should be penalized for being classified as music) ...

It's a good song to play in an arena or in the club, it gets people hyped up. But in the video they didn't even play Mo Bamba, it sounded like Don't Stop Believin' to me.

They played Mo Bamba during the break. The footage was of what happened during the break but the audio was the commentators talking about it when the song had changed to don’t stop believing
If anyone was curious as to just how egregiously bad the officiating of last nights game was, this is all you need to see.
Try listening to a radio broadcast of that play!
Hee hee, we went from winning the game to having it tied up to ultimately losing after yet another lengthy review by these incompetent refs with my emotions on a rollercoaster. To be fair, I saw terrible officiating in a lot of other games yesterday but it doesn't make me feel any better about the job these so-called professionals are doing in the sport we love...
Holy crap I don't think I've ever endured that amount of rain before. That was insane.
Also the refs were pretty terrible. The PI call on Vildor's interception was awful. Vildor was inside the WR and the guy was draped on his back because Vildor broke on the ball better than he did. That was an early play that could have changed the complexion of that game. The leaping flag on Wright was pretty bad too, he didn't leap over the blockers, just went up to try and block and ended up tumbling over the players. Risk you take I guess, but it was not leaping.
We had plenty of opportunities to put that game away in regulation, but we continue to struggle finishing drives. Saw some new faces on the field this week and some positive things, especially for the conditions we had to endure.
Really wish we could get an asterisk on the attendance for this one, cause I don't blame a soul for staying at home.

So weird. Never heard of such a cluster of flags and all we had to do was stay composed on our sideline to get 15 yards for the Eagles' taunting...
Absolutely ridiculous...
The players on both sides were just jumping up and down...
These refs are dumb as ****
I finally had a chance to catch the video of the dance off. I could see a delay of game penalty at worse that would offset, and only then if the teams did this for longer than the 2 minute media timeout As long as the media timeouts drag on I doubt that was the case.
Some of the players have to sit some next game over this. Hopefully there is a chance to appeal this part of the penalty.

Hard to believe we've played in Conway 4 times and they're only making their second trip to Statesboro.
What's the story behind the one game in September 2010? I assume 2006/2007 was a home-and-home, but isn't it weird for a SoCon team to play a one-time game at a Big South team without a return game?
Coastal backed out of the return game, after we played the 1st half of the home-home.

I just hope we play like we did last time we had a rainy home game.
Well, if you knock Thomas out and payoff the refs to eject Fehr, you should be good!
Logan Wright is out as well. Hopefully Chad (a real Chad he is) can use this time to figure out how to use speed to attack the perimeters of the field to help make life easier on your offensive line. Can't exactly get to the second level if you have 8 and 9 guys in the box all the time.
Are we really still holding onto the Thomas/Fehr stuff?
O-line is going to have to play better no question. Hopefully we can take care of the ball. I don't think attendance will be great with the severe weather, but oddly enough sometimes that atmosphere is just as good. Just hoping the lightning stays away.
2 inches of rain won't be easy for either team. If you guys have a grass field I may just tune in (pardon my ignorance on grass or turf for Paulson). Rain is the ultimate equalizer in a game where both teams are pretty much already equal. Pitches for Southern will be an issue, throwing the ball will be an issue for Coastal. I expect both offenses to be limited and the game to be a race to 17 points.
As for Thomas and Fehr, you can't pretend that playing Peyton who is now riding the pine at Wofford presented as much of a challenge as Thomas would have. Fehr's play before and after that game speaks for itself.
Regardless, Georgia Southern won that game and in convincing fashion. Circumstances aren't important with what was on the line on that miserable Thursday night.
