RE: UConn 2020 Schefule?
UConn will have to schedule a bunch of 1-AA games, will lose most of them and will then settle into one of those conferences permanently and live life happily ever after. It will be interesting to see if UConn opts for more exposure in the Colonial Athletic Conference and its $10,000 tv contract or the Patriot League and its $15,000 per team payout.

RE: UConn 2020 Schefule?
Serious question: Does going to a modified conference schedule (no divisions) mean that the AAC schools will all be able to easily replace UConn on their schedules with other conference opponents?

Yes, no issues replacing UConn with other conference opponents.

>> UConn is close to announcing six of the eight open dates on its 2020 independent schedule. “Contracts can be challenging. In some cases, multiple institutions are involved in getting one or two games. In other words, schools juggled some years and series. “You’re scraping and clawing for opportunities, but we’re hoping to release something later this week after they’re done and signed.”

Benedict said he expects no additional FCS games beyond Maine in 2020.

Benedict said he is open to continue playing AAC schools. There is reportedly a deal with UCF for 2021. “Logistically, geographically, there are some schools in places we want to continue to play in,” Benedict said. “Obviously, Florida is an important place for us to play. Playing Temple in Philly makes sense.” <<

On the bright side, XCONN will be playing a lot of new schools. Should be a fun schedule.

It's pretty simple. Eight teams lost a conference game with UConn for 2020. Those 8 teams pair off and play a game each against each other.

RE: UConn 2020 Schedule?
Sept. 3: UMass
Sept. 12: at Illinois
Sept. 26: Indiana
Oct 24: at Ole Miss
Oct. 31: Liberty
Nov. 14: at San Jose State
Nov. 28: Army
Dates TBA: Maine, at Virginia.

The final 3 games are an ACC team at home, a G5 at home, and a G5 away.

So that's 5 P5's, 3 Indys, 3 G5's, and 1 FCS. 7 home games.

Game #10 is an unannounced ACC team.

So far that's 5 P5's, 1 FCS, and 5 home games.

2 to go.

Looks good to me. AD Benedict kept it under wraps for fear of Big East negotiations breaking down.

Pretty solid schedule for year one if you ask me. Especially on such short notice. Well done AD Benedict.

Gotta do what you gotta do in November. Will be fun hosting San Jose in November 2021 tho.

It's a winnable game though, even for us lol. I'll take it considering we still ended up with 7 home games and 5 P5's. Curious to see who the 5th is. I'm guessing Cuse, Pitt or BC

home vs ACC (UNC is the rumor, although it could be VaTech or any of the Northeastern teams)

@ San Jose State appears to be a necessary trade-off in order to close out the season with Army coming to East Hartford (since they broke up a game between the two), which in my opinion is worth it. Hopefully instead of just taking over Army's road trip it's the first leg of a home-and-home with San Jose and it gets UConn a home game in the future.

If I was a player I'd like a winnable game in California in November.
