Rutgers game
Still three weeks away, but it’s worth noting that neither the #1 nor the #2 QB for the Scarlet Knights (when the season started) will be playing for the rest of the year.

The #1 starter (senior Carter McLane) who led Rutgers to a season-opening W over UMass had graduated from Texas Tech and transferred to RU this spring. He suffered a concussion in the game vs. Iowa and has (just today) made a public announcement of his retirement from football due to medical reasons.

The #2 starter (sophomore Art Sitkowski) has decided to preserve his redshirt-eligibility by not playing in any additional games this year. RU’s best running-back announced the same decision at the same time.

Rutgers’ next option at QB is either a true freshman or a redshirt freshman.

All this in addition to the fact that RU fired its HC after getting shut-out @Michigan on 09/28.

I had no idea about this but I hope this is for the best for him. We have a bigger opportunity to go up there and win this game. Nonetheless I’m nervous about our previous games with low scoring. We can’t have the same mistakes going into this game.

RE: Rutgers game
Rutgers losing 21-0 at the end of the 1Q to... Indiana.

It really seems as if RU has quit on this season.

RE: Rutgers game
At this point, I’d guess LU will be favored by about 3-4 points in Vegas. Maybe more if Rutgers gets stomped-on by Minnesota next Sat.
