HCCC knows the 3-3 defense inside out. He knew what to do against Elon and he will know what to do against Vanillanova. That defense has traditionally given JMU fits, but what I saw our O Line do to it at Elon makes me feel extra confident Saturday.

I look for us to manhandle Nova and win easily. Wham left, Wham right. 350 yards rushing.

I agree. I think we clobber 'nova. Barring us beating ourselves with turnovers and big mistakes, we smoke 'nova like a cheap cigar. The dawgs will chase the cats out of Harrisonburg. Book it!

It's my understanding that the strength of the 3-3 defense is against spread offenses, and disrupting misdirection or other plays that require blockers moving laterally through the backfield (pulls, jet sweeps, etc). However, gap-based power running can defeat that, because generally LBs exchange size for speed, so you just pick a direction and run them over.

So, we'll see.

I am glad HCCC appears to get how to attack odd man front..........because MH used the odd man front as some wild deviation that is never seen to explain issues blocking it. Never made any sense b/c at least 3 CAA teams run odd man front defenses.
