In all fairness, McLeod set the receiving yards record in an 11 game season. It may take Polk 14, 15, or 16 games to break it. While Polk has been an Excellent impact player, I would still give a tip of the hat to McLeod.

Probably one of those records that should have an asterisk based on games played.

I bet Polk is ok with having to have the asterisk if it takes all the way to the national championship.

In fairness to Polk, JMU runs the ball a lot and their is more receiving talent on this team than when McLeod played.

How many receptions did McCleod have during his record breaking season. Receptions are a better indicator then games played. If McCleod was targeted more often then Polk, that makes a difference when comparing the two.

We shouldn’t forget Percy will go over 1,000 yards rushing next game, and Jawon over 800. Not sure who the RBs were when McCleod set the receiving record, but the 2019 JMU team is so wonderfully balanced and talented on O it’s only rival is the 2016 NC team. Let’s hope 2019 is NC year #3 for JMU.

Well, there were two future NFL receivers/TEs on that team with McLeod--Macey Brooks (freshman) and Ed Perry (Sophmore). Dave was definitely the main target of the offense. Our RBs that year were Rad Miles and Kelvin Jeter with Steve Agee at Fullback. Yeah, we ran the option out of an I formation.

Jeter was a solid running back.
