LSU and Ohio St are set for the playoffs win or lose. Even if UGA beat LSU by 14 pts LSU would still be in the playoffs. If UGA beats LSU and Ohio St and Clemson wins, all that will happen is UGA and LSU would swap spots or Clemson would move to #2, UGA #3, and LSU #4.
Same applies to Ohio St. They are in regardless of their game against Wisconsin. Clemson and Georgia are the two current Top 4 teams that can't afford to lose on Saturday if they want to stay in playoff contention.

LSU is in the playoff unless they just get badly beaten by UGA. Most likely they still get in because over the course of the season they showed at worse they are the 2nd best team in college football. Probably the best, its hard getting a good read on Ohio St because I think the Big 10 is not as strong at the top half.

Even if LSU gets beat 49-7 by UGA they are still in. They'd be 12-1. And the Playoff Committee has proven all year that big wins carry more weight than bad losses.

Right now, I believe, many things can change for UAB and FAU. I believe that a totally different set of bowls will be looking to invite our teams if they lose the CCG from the bowls that will be looking to invite the CCG winner.

USM vs Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl?
That'd be pretty sweet but honestly, I don't see how any one could project us in bowl games that CUSA has no affiliations with. I mean, I realize ESPN owns most of these bowls so I guess they can do whatever the hell they want with them right?
0 chance of USM in Liberty bowl. AAC has the back up spot. Likely Cincy, Memphis, or UCF.
Good. Memphis doesn't really have too much going on. New Orleans would be much better and closer. Plus it would be on a Saturday.

There are 78 bowl spots for 79 eligible teams. My guess one of four MAC schools will be left out, either Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Toledo or Kent State. All four are 6-6.
Other 6-6 teams that could be on the chopping block:
CUSA
FIU
MWC
None
AAC
Tulane
Sun Belt
None
None of the 6-6 P5 conference teams will be left out
ACC
Florida State
Boston College
Miami
North Carolina
B10
Illinois
B12
None
P12
Washington State
SEC
Missouri (Bowl Ban - Ineligible)
Mississippi State

Owl access saying we are trying to get the Boca bowl to take us despite cusa not even being in the rotation this year.
What a joke. This could be the 2nd time we win cusa and our reward is a home game prob not vs a great opponent.
Give the kids a shot to travel and play a hard opponent! That's how you earn respect!
Crap fans not traveling are holding us back

When Marshall was in IAA we bid and hosted the championship game for 5 years and was in the title game 4 of the 5 years. But as far as a Bowl Game I would want to travel and not play at home.

If that's true, I bet they'll match y'all with UCF or Cincy. Those wouldn't be bad matchups.

I am all for a Boca Raton match-up for the Owls. But the opponent has to be an AAC runner-up or P5.

If they don't match FAU with the SBC champ, MAC champ, Cincy or UCF then it's a joke.

It would be our fans and admins fault for not traveling. At this point the bowl game would be better if we don't win the fricken conference for God sakes
