Just saying Toledo would have a shot at UC, ASU, and Iowa. Auburn, Ohio State and Wisconsin... Not a chance.

Eh, I think Toledo is a couple steps ahead of the pack. But a team like Ohio could steal it, you never know in the one-off MACC. Don't think anyone will beat UT out in the West though.
Ohio does always seem to improve throughout the year.

Toledo doesn't seem to roll over in big games.
We lost our QB or maybe would have taken Kentucky down. It was also their only full game with their starter, as he went out vs. EMU and they have been a wreck with injuries since.
I bet we have played fewer 30th to 70th ranked teams Ooc Than anyone in the conference. We never seem to get those winnable P5 games because no one plays us. It's usually a historically good G5 program on either a down or an amazing year. See CSU, see Nevada, see Fresno State, see Tulsa. If only our Miami FL game would have not been in 2017 and 2018. This would be the year to have them.

You lost to a bad Kentucky team, your idea interpretation of having a shot at a top 20 team that took down multiple top 20 teams doesn’t ring true.

We were tied when our dynamic QB which leads us to our big wins went out... Jordan Lynch goes out and NIU doesn't go the Access Bowl... Oh, and didn't that NIU team lose week 1 to 4-8 Iowa???
We beat BYU who beat USC. Anything can happen when you get ample opportunities.

kent's schedule is rather ridiculous. and look at the next 3 years (arkansas, kentucky and alabama) then (Texas AM, Iowa, Maryland) in 2022 they've only scheduled 1 game - Georgia. Their formula is to book the highest paying ass kicking gigs they can get. I'll take 3 master. And then 1 FCS home game. UT typically follows a formula. 2 strong G5 programs staggered for 1 home and 1 road game, an early FCS home game, and 1 name opponent (usually a road money game, sometimes a home and home or 2 for 1).

I think this is an impeachable offense!

Kentucky has lost 2 QB's since it played Toledo.
The third QB has wrist, shoulder, and an undisclosed
lower body injuries. He's only probable at this point.
UK's leading WR is taking snaps and will likely see
some action at QB this weekend. Not exactly the same Wildcat team the Rockets played against.

Can't really blame a Kent fan for feeling that way towards playing P5/"superior" programs. Gotta go back to 2012 to even find a win over such an opponent for the Flashes and that was (albeit a pretty good team at the time) Rutgers.
Not trying to be an ******* but you are just trashing, as it appears for now, the best team in the conference on paper. No one is even saying that we would beat any of those teams, just that we might have a shot which generally implies that they might sneak 2 or 3 out of 10.

Thanks, but you are being an *******. No trashing here, but for some reason while discussing somebody else’s brutal OOC schedule your fan base chimed in with a misguided $.02.

I'll keep fantasising we are a top 5 team but I know we are a top 50 team. Something no one in this conference is close to right now.

We are all entitled to our opinions, so I suppose it's just an agree to disagree situation. I'd say the assertion that Toledo would have no chance holds no more water than ours that it does since the games won't actually occur. A few fans chimed in because these are the boards for the entire conference, after all.

Here are the records of both teams the past 10 years against top 25 teams OOC. Shouldn't the powerhouse Toledo have more than one more win than lowly Kent State?
Toledo 2-9
Kent 1-10

nobody is calling toledo a powerhouse, just an example of a typically strong mac program vs kent, a typically weak mac program. toledo has been pretty good over the past couple decades against average P5 teams and those marginal P5/P6 teams like BYU, Navy, Cincy. The Rockets have also beaten Penn St and Michigan in the 2000s but in the past 4 years haven't had a major upset win non-conf.
