RE: 2019 MAC Football Pick 'Em -- Week 6
Bold=Winner, Underline=Beats Spread
Kent State @ Wisconsin -36
*I'm going out on a limb here with this one. I don't faithfully believe it, but why the hell not. I think KSU loses only by 34 in this one. KSU is no BG or Kangaroo. Wisconsin's going to be thinking about Michigan State next week, and their win over Northwestern -- in WI no less -- was kind of a tight game. They see this as an in-between game. KSU sneaks in a couple TDs and a FG to lose 51-17. Yes, more points than Michigan, but 10 of it's due to garbage-time.
Eastern Michigan -6 @ Central Michigan
*How this plays out will foreshadow how well WMU plays Toledo. If EMU blows them out of the water, in Mt Pleasant, it's going to be a long day for WMU vs Toledo. That said, it still may be, but I think CMU is on the right track, will correct their mistakes with a good new coach -- and at home, do better than they did VS WMU, and play at least 2.5 great quarters. EMU wins by a FG.
Bowling Green @ Notre Dame -45.5
*What are the the chances BGSU pulls an upset? Even if Notre Dame, we presume & validate later, is not going to have a great year this year? About the same as me having all the Toledo cheerleaders shipped via FedEx over to my place to have fun with after WMU blows out @Toledo by 40. BUTT, Notre Dame gets really lazy during this game? Remember the Ball State game a couple years back that was actually kinda close? Yah. They'll care a lot less here. BGSU steps up and beats the spread. They only lose by 42.
Ohio -3 @ Buffalo
*Buffalo wants to make up for their loss @Miami last week, after being ga-ga over their Temple win. Well, Ohio wants to make up for having a bad start. Solich leads them in the right direction and wins by 7. Of course, I would NOT be surprised at all if it happens the other way around. Buffalo's backup QB doesn't seem too bad.
Western Michigan @ Toledo -1.5
*How in the world this only favors Toledo by 1.5, I do not know. Maybe Vegas knows something I don't. Or maybe as a MAC fan, namely a Bronco fan, I know something they don't. That's what I'm betting on, without fear. This could be a decently close game, don't get me wrong. But WMU on the Road against non-power Offensive teams, barely asked them to punt + fell short on points VS yards. This plays into Toledo's playbook in Toledo -- where turnovers and the way the wind blows (FGs or not) favor the Mudhens. And Toledo blew out WMU in Kzoo last year. WMU could have a comeback at the end, or get ahold early but lose it down the line. Good chance it's somewhat close, but if a shootout, it's going to favor Toledo (see Box Score of WMU vs Syracuse). Expect WMU to score into the 30s, but Toledo to score in the 40s.
Ball State @ Northern Illinois -5
*This game could actually go either way. But I have to say it's getting to BSU that they're 1-3 regardless. Nobody's whipped them despite playing 2 P5s and a formidable G5. I think NIU after their tough OOC schedule, has a sigh of relief, at home, wanting to make up for the Vandy loss. NIU's offense will be more on par, and their D will keep BSU at bay. NIU wins by 10.
