Field hockey
NU field hockey is off to an excellent start (6-2 overall) ...

Friday they won 6-4 at #23 ranked Fairfield. NU's first win over a ranked team since 2014.

NU currently leads the nation in scoring avg., as they're averaging 4.6 goals a game.

They snapped Fairfield's 7-game win streak and scored 6 goals against a team that had allowed just 1 goal a game coming into Friday.

NU continues their road trip Sunday at #21 ranked Wake Forest. The Decons last 2 wins are over #13 Liberty and #15 Stanford ... so its going to be a chore to win,

Despite Sunday's 3-1 loss at #21 Wake Forest, NU is ranked #25 in the NFHCA poll that came out today.

Its the first top 25 ranking for NU since 2014.

They're at UMass Friday before facing #11 ranked Delaware at home Sunday. The only two ranked teams in the CAA.

RE: Field hockey
NU had a rough weekend, as they lost 2-0 at UMass and 5-1 vs #11 Delaware.

Their offense has suddenly stalled and they'll have a short stay in the top 25.

NU will play for the CAA Championship Sunday vs Delaware. The tournament is taking place at UD, so it will be a tall order for NU to get the win.

Friday in the semis, #3 NU got a goal in the last minute of regulation to beat #2 W&M 1-0.

A win would give NU its first CAA title since 2012.

Tough game in the championship. The girls did really well but fell to #11 Delaware 2-1.

Was following along best I could to this one. A good season and a lot to look forward to in the future, particularly freshman sensation Lauren Rowe.

RE: Field hockey
As STL said, it was a tough loss but they kept it close with a chance to win.

NU started out scoring a lot of goals but cooled off. Still a good season nevertheless.

Still, we need a few defensive players to reach the level we expect at NU.
