Because he didn't like his chances if the game extended into over time. I think it was the right decision to go for 2 also. The longer the game was extended, the more the outcome was going to favor the more talented team in Clemson.

Going for two was the right decision. The wrong decision was trying to run to the perimeter against Clemson's defense.

It looked like they expected Clemson to call timeout, which never happened, and they had to run that play.

Nah... they just called the wrong play. I believe it was similar to the 2 point conversion they ran at Wake. I wish they would have ran a pass play to a TE on the wide side of the field instead of that option play.

Yeah, Mack said they thought they had a good play. I’m still surprised Clemson didn’t call a timeout with two left though.
