...what happened to ESPN Goal Line?
...or have I just lost the channel? (which could be the case here... 03-old )

It was a pretty cool deal with the 'look-ins' from around the country... they may have nixed it in order to make folks channel surf or whatever... I remember there were no commercials or advertising, so that might have been the death of it...

ESPN canned it to put more emphasis on its streaming service. I'm surprised they didn't put it behind the ESPN+ paywall to get more subscribers.

Thanks, I figured as much... was pretty cool, but I understand the 'downside' for ESPN...

Putting it on Plus would be smart, then the ticker could be breaking New and sponsored adds since you are getting the scoring updates.

This thing gets at a theme I've been pursuing for awhile... ie, if all non-autos collaborated together and negotiated a single TV contract, one of the agile innovations they could implement that autos wouldn't is a Goal Line clone specific to the non-auto games.

Seems like they could still do adds. With how spread out the schedule is, there are only a handful of ESPN-controlled games on at a time. There are definitely opportunities for ad-hoc commercial breaks.
